Why are so many generals getting the axe?

Ever notice how no cabinet members in the Obama Administration are ever fired (the names Holder, Rice, Sibelius spring to mind), but in the last year nine senior generals have been fired? I wonder why that is?

According to a report from The Blaze:

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, said the White House fails to take action or investigate its own, but finds it easy to fire military commanders “who have given their lives for their country.”

Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama’s ideology,” Vallely said. “The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. He’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”..........

One reason so many top ranking officers are getting in the news is because there are too many top ranking officers....”

true, but in time of war you need experience.
I think there is politics in play here.

This is all nonsense. Obama is not purging senior officers and the evidence cited does not hold water. The rate of sackings is quite normal for reasons that are all too well understood.

The unfortunate truth is that Obama is not purging generals and admirals because they are all going along with his programs. They certainly are not criticizing anything that he is doing and they will never say anything that is politically incorrect. When was the last time someone resigned because they could not support the Administration’s policy. It’s not happening. They like their jobs and want to keep them and they want to get on the band wagon of wealth enhancement when they retire.

Rank inflation started decades ago and has only gotten worse.

As a retired 0-5 I also see two other factors. The quality of officers has dropped (symptom of society) and there are PC landmines everywhere. With regard to the latter, rough and tumble warfighters are now more inclined to just get out than put up with making sure National Minority Lesbian Breast Cancer Month is fully observed.

If you like your military, you will be able to keep your military. Period.

If you like your generals, you will be able to keep your generals. Period.

No one will take them away. No matter what.

If they try they’ll be in for a huge shock.

Order the shooting of “patriots” and I envision A LOT of friendly fire incidents.

Well good but zer0 is now disarming those he does not trust and arming those he does. The POSOTUS is not, as some freepers here say, “STUPID”. Everything he does is for the destruction of AMERICA and the creation of Marxist/Muslim/LaRaza America.

We need to be vigilant

I went through the 92-95 drawdown, had RIFs, SERBs, and low % promotion boards. I got hit by the promotion board. The fastest management tool they used to downsize (to my knowledge) was the SERB board. Once the names were released you only had 5-6 months left on active duty. Never heard of a management tool, that could get rid of you in days (other than court martials). I was in the AF, and at the time they were allowing people to retire with 15 years.
