Hard working families? Then SNAP isn’t their only source of income. $9 a week can be dealt with. They have been expecting this cut for some time.
Show some appreciation for what you receive. It is coming from other hard working families that don’t get SNAP benefits, for Goodness sakes!!
I don’t think whites are tough enough anymore to do roofing in the summer in places like Arizona. Did they (we) do it in the past? Yes.
I think we need to differentiate between justifiably proud AMERICANS of “hispanic” or “latin” heritage, and what I call “Latrinos”, who come here to spew out kids they can’t afford, commit crimes in our neighborhoods, and are generally worthless without a major attitude adjustment.
When I moved into my neighborhood in 1983, I was blessed with having some great neighbors. They were of latin descent, and were just plain great folks. They were friendly, but minded their own business nicely. Neighbor A was an ironworker who kept up his yard better than I do, had very pleasant barbeques at his place, and was always good to talk to. He was an excellent cook, as was his missus. I can recall a birthday party they invited me to where the missus had coolers full of some of the best tamales I’ve ever eaten. I made a pig of myself and ate about 20. The mister kept me well lubricated with cold beer. They were gracious and engaging hosts.
Neighbor B was a hardworking family man who spoke little if any English, but who always had a friendly smile and wave whenever you saw him. Yeah, he had occasional parties with live mariachi bands, but his guests never caused trouble and the music, while certainly noticeable, was not excessively loud, and was always shut down by 10 PM.
Both were extremely generous when I took my daughter to their homes trick-or-treating. My stupid white neighbor talked me into taking our kids to the yuppified area immediately adjacent. After a short while, my daughter and I returned to our home turf, where she collected better than 10 times the candy booty from half the stops. The “better” neighborhood was totally inferior to the “poorer”.
Neighbor A moved out, and their home was replaced with THREE “townhomes” on their lot. Never met any of the folks. They weren’t friendly. They’re all white - like me.
Meanwhile, a nearby previously closed compartment building was renovated, and filled with a section 8 Latrino crowd. Most are probably illegals, and they caused an immediate degeneration in the neighborhood. Numerous cases of vandalism and theft have been occurring. In the latest, last week gang scum “tagged” my neighbor’s fence with their filth. Never happened before in over 20 years.
There’s a huge difference between Americans of latin heritage and Latrinos. I welcome the former as good neighbors, and would like to deport the asses of the latter. We don’t need “La Raza” welfare scum in our country. We DO need folks like neighbors A & B and their families. As my neighbors have shown, quality folks can come from all backgounds and social strata. As the Latrinos have shown, scum is scum, and undesirable - especially when living off our tax money !
Only an idiot would denigrate the contributions of Americans of latin ancestry in Texas. They have a long and proud history here for many reasons. Several of the signatories of the Texas declaration of independence were of latin descent.
It’s a trivial point, but latin contributions to American cuisine are much appreciated by me. Never heard about cilantro, or pico de gallo or fajitas ‘till I moved here.
Not to mention the latin ancestry AMERICANS who’ve been heroes in all of our wars. Or the contributions to the American heritage of chivalry and fair play by legends like Zorro. I’d hold Zorro up against Robin Hood any day.
The current “Hispanic” welfare scum are a cancer on the thanks we owe Americans of latin descent.
Let’s not lump together the many outstanding Americans of latin descent - or even other lands, and what I call Latrinos.
Funny whites were tough enough to do it right up to the day the bosses replaced them with illegals to save money. I did payroll for a construction company in Arizona when it started in the late 70s early 80s, saw it with my own eyes. I know many white men that work that hard in the heat right now so...maybe I just know unusual men. I even know kids and young men that work very hard in the heat or cold or whatever but I have noticed many younger men will not work hard, many not at all- of all races.
All whites are not lazy, all Mexicans are not ambitious- where I live I see plenty of both.
Many little ethnic food stores are centers of food stamp cheating. There is lots of cheating with food stamps which, of course means that there are many, many people who are receiving food stamps who shouldn’t be. The cheating stores that I have read about are stores that immigrants use.
I worked as a cashier for a number of years. Our store would give Christmas vouchers for the needy. The vouchers were marked as being for clothes, toys and childrens things. After a few years of this I realized that almost all of the mothers’ purchased toys rather than clothes. They didn’t purchase practical things for their kids like winter coats, boots, shoes, school clothes, pajamas, hats, gloves. Instead they purchased toys and teen music.
I began piecing things together and it became clear to me that the kids were certainly not in need because if they were the mothers would buy necessary things and then a inexpensive toy or two. These mothers were not likely to be living celebate lives rather most of them must have had boyfriends living with them but not reported to the welfare office. They had what they needed from their boyfriends, welfare and then they got toys for their kids from the store voucher since the kids already had all the clothes they needed. They probably also stopped off at Toys for Tots for even more Christmas toys.
I read an article about all the welfare give aways in Indianapolis. There are so many soup kitchens that food stamp recipients can eat every day without paying for anything then they take their food stamps to a pizza shop, buy a pizza and split the rest of the money with the crooked pizza shop.
Every time there is any talk about cutting taxes, the Democrats always have to add that they are “tax cuts for billionaires”. They must memorize their 3X5 cards with the Marxist talking points.
That’s racist. Latino’s at 17% yet, they are singled out to describe the impact.
More proof that many people receiving food stamps don’t really need them or they would be using them to feed their own families rather than sending them over seas. And what about the store? Aren’t the blue barrels an indication that they were in on the scheme?
I agree being an American second generation Mexican. This article does lump everyone into one pot. Not all Latinos aka Hispanics are into the government dole. My own father frowned on getting assistant from the government. For he himself knew first hand what a corrupt government can do. Though being born in the US he grew up in Mexico and was close friend to a president. He came to the US never to have connection to his past in Mexico. So yes my father showed me there are Hispanics coming here to get the free teat from the government but also there are many who refuse to get any assistance from the government and rather work their way up.

I know exactly where you mean; it is about 7 or 8 miles northeast (I’m in Hudson County).
There was a pathmark in that neighborhood. Shop there sometime for an eye opening experience.

Now they overrun the Wal-Mart in Secaucus just to the west; if they have a PathMark they’re in better shape than Newark, which within the past few years got its first chain supermarket in DECADES (many Newark residents shop in the Shop-Rite in my town).
I say Pathmark. It’s been over a decade since I’ve been in that neighborhood. It was being taken over by illegals then. It may have gone under since then. The parking lot there was already dicey for crime after dark.
I remember when there was a Kmart in Secaucus. That one closed because of stock attrition. Ahem.
Secaucus itself isn’t a bad place to live (though it does flooed); the wide-open spaces have made it a natural site for big stores, and the demand from NYers (seeking lower sales tax) has packed them. They probably face “stock attrition” as well, though from NJ shoppers. If I’m in the area I’ll check out the PathMark; thanks for the tip!
Rice, beans and powdered milk will do these parasites just fine...
