“Latinos will suffer least from the small cut in food stamps ($35 a month). They know how to stretch their food dollar, and how to make cheap nutritious meals.”

They also have a real obesity/diabetes epidemic; we’ve been over-feeding our parasite class.

A family of 4 is being cut about $36 a month.

THEY CAN GIVE UP THEIR CELL PHONES and CABLE TV and they would have more then enough to make up the difference.

Work Harder, Comrades. Millions of Latinos depend on you!

There is not enough money. You must work harder.

“I don’t understand the kind of thinking that supports taking the food out of the mouths of our children and our most vulnerable adults. It seems Republicans are more interested in cutting taxes for billionaires than feeding our nation’s poor children,” Hinojosa added."

Even if any of that crap were remotely true, you must understand that this country, the one your constituents like so much they break into it, wasn't founded with the intent of being the world's fast food stand. What's wrong with getting jobs and buying food?

“I lived in a Latino neighborhood for 10 years. Maybe you could go grocery shopping there and give them tips. They seem to be buying the same crap the other welfare crowd buys.”

The recent immigrants that actually work tend to be more frugal than the population in general; I believe this happens with many immigrant populations. I never see recent Asian immigrants, who work long hours in Quik-E-Marts and gas stations, wearing $300 sneakers...

Like $9 a week!!!!!

You are heartless. That $36 dollars a month could be the difference between premium or standard cable TV for these poor folks. ;-)

Notice in this story the photo editors did a much better job of not revealing too much about the family. Not like the family an article showed a picture of the other day....three kids, lots of wine bottles, bottled water, etc.

I do notice she has a nice pair of sunglasses, a nice backpack and the kid has a couple of toys.

>>>> ready to explode!

Ok having hard time to get some SNAP due to trying to reschedule another appointment. Anyway Im so pissed because so many people who have not earned are getting help while I worked my butt off only to find myself unemployed.

I live in the East Bay, and someone told me “Patriot Babe if you want Food Stamps just go in and tell them your homeless. San Francisco is so lenient”. I’m thinking “WTF no wonder California is going broke”. These liberals toss our money like it is nothing.

Thank you for allowing me rant from a White Hispanic or Wise Latina LOL

“I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.” ~Thomas Jefferson

I like this Jefferson guy! Wonder if he could get nominated in 16. Shoot, dead for two centuries, he'd do a better job than The Won.

There needs to be cuts. They waste many thousands of tons of food that gets thrown away and brings rats with diseases.

The recent ones work until they figure out (or are taught by community organizers) how to scam the system. Once they realize the kids get 2 and usually 3 meals a day at the school and during the summertime too the frugality goes out the window.

It was fairly easy to tell who was ‘new’ and who was an ‘oldtimer’ by how much they weighed. Sadly. The kids who grew up here were usually just round.

I haven’t seen many Asian immigrants on foodstamps thoughj Or dressing/buying flashy stuff. Second generation is another story although usually mom/dad harsh their buzz fairly quickly. Not saying they aren’t, the ones I was around were all educated H1B types.

Gosh, with the freebies so bad and all, maybe they will go back to their native land where they belong.

“Brace” is a severely overused word. You “brace” for a hurricane, you “prepare” for food stamp cuts.

It’s like 36 cents a day per person. Less in some states. So draconian.

Actually its the end of a temporary increase from “Stimulus”

People who have jobs have taken much bigger cuts, and think about how big an income cut ObamaCare is going to be
