President Barack Obamas attempt at explanation has only fanned the flames of controversy over his campaign line, "If you like your health care, you can keep it."
Obama was already dealing with a troubled rollout of the healthcare.gov website when reports of health insurance cancellation notices for many Americans started arriving.
Such notices have been common only for people purchasing insurance on the individual market, which accounts for about 5 percent of Americans, a small minority. But the existence of people in that situation struck many critics as contradicting his like-it, keep-it promise on its face.
Obamas speech on Nov. 4, 2013, at a meeting of Organizing for Action, his campaign organization, seemed to offer a new, and confusing, wrinkle.
"Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasnt changed since the law passed," Obama said. . .

Interesting how he waited until now to tell us.
“Change” of the plan in this case includes raising the rates, while costs go up.
Oh, well okay then. Never mind.
Another day, another lie from the lying liar.
“Ubama’s definition of “Period” is “if it hasnt changed since the law passed.” “
it depends on what your definition of period is.
Only 15 million people. Not like they matter.
American can absorb the hit.
They're just bumps in the road. (to 0bamatopia)
Sometimes you just have to hit the 'reset' button. (and let the chips fall)
If one person gets quality healthcare who didn't have it before it's worth it.
The Republican will tell you all these things to try and scare you.
They all has substandard plans. (because they're too stupid to know the difference)
We came, we saw, we lied!
What difference does it make?
Look! Youtube video!
More lies...”if” if hasn’t changed. But it HAS to change because you are MANDATING it change.
So, I still can’t “keep it if I like it” moron.
Thank goodnes the MSM can’t hide the lies any longer.
Lying about lies. Shocking /S
Lying about lying about the lies.
Just keep diggin’ Barry...
I used to refer to this clown as ‘President Trayvon’ ..... but I now think that a more appropriate reference to this clown might be ‘President Period !’
Now bozo told Chuck retodd nbc I’m sorry .
Well finally a truth from bo. Somebody lost their hc plan sorry not related to anything I did but soory bout that.
****it depends on what your definition of period is.****
Of course. He meant the period between when he said it and the time your policy is cancelled.
“what we said was you can keep it if it hasnt changed since the law passed,”
Is there any video or audio proof of that?
obama didn’t like where he had put the “Period.” in his earlier lies, so he decided to move it a few feet farther down the paragraph.
[Is there any video or audio proof of that?]
If there was, the administration would be touting it. Obama would rather climb to the top of a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth.
