New Orleans cops have always had more than their share of theives, grafters, and skimmers. One female cop even knocked off I believe it was 4 or 5 people because she didn’t get her share of the proceeds. Does not surprise me in the least.

The store is called Daka and is akin to Best Buy or (when they were around) Circuit City; large store of home electronics and appliances. The new Pres (Maduro) accused the store of price gouging, arrested the store managers and had government officials (backed by the National Guard uniformed armed troops; similar to our Dept. of Homeland Sec.) re-price and sell all stock at “fair” prices. Problem was that a few local folk did not wait for the government to show up and do as Maduro announced and took the initiative much like the “yutes” in inner cities. The flash like mobs broke into stores and took merchandize without paying.

Whenever the Dems feel like it, coming to Walmart near you soon.

“The store is called Daka and is akin to Best Buy”

The article I read said there were only “five” stores in the whole country. There are five Best Buy stores in any decent size larger city in the US. The Obama voters here are probably cheering this move by the socialists but have no idea what this means. Venezuela has a population of about 30 million. Take that number and lay it on the US and you will have about 55 stores across the whole country.

“I want a Sony plasma television for the house,” said Amanda Lisboa, 34, a business administrator, who had waited seven hours already outside one Caracas store. “It’s going to be so cheap!”

Well if she didn't get it this time, she won't be getting one anytime soon. No businessman will be stupid enough to keep TVs on the shelf in Venezuela after this.

These seized stores prices were apparently lower than the prices of the same items in government-owned stores.

SO “high prices” were not the real reason

Walmart is not in Venezuela. Take note, Walmart...coming to a country near you. If you lay down with dogs...you wake up nationalized.

Wow! I hadn’t seen that. That presents a whole other side to the story.

The chain is called Daka, apparently it’s an electronics category-killer type store. Thanks grundle.

A comment on a Venezuelan blog said they were looting paperweights because of all the power blackouts. He/she commented that power had been out 4 hours just today.

According to certain Venezuelan bloggers, some items were cheaper at the seized stores than the government-run stores.

Unfortunately, once lefties finally take over a country, they cannot be voted out of office because they corrupt the vote every time. They squeeze the private sector until it shrivels and dies. Failure to bring about the promised perfect society fuels the propaganda machine that ratchets up blaming "wreckers," foreign devils, imperialists, greedy capitalists, and, naturally, "The Jews." Witch hunts, show trials, and "re-education" camps surrounded by guards and barbed wire are always the end result, whether it is in Venezuela, or the U.S.A. The scenery is different, but the script has already been written.
