Was Life Really Terrible For Gay Men in the Bad Old Days?

Posted on 11/11/2013 8:09:48 AM PST by ComtedeMaistre

The story of the first gay Bishop of the American Episcopal Church, Gene Robinson, is fascinating. His parents were poor, ignorant, redneck, tobacco farmers, who were fundamentalist Christians. Robinson was a gay child raised in the Bible Belt state of Kentucky, where he was taught hateful religious right doctrines that the definition of marriage is one man joined to one woman, and that no other form of sexual behavior was permitted.

Robinson's hillbilly redneck parents also required their child to attend Sunday School, where he had a perfect attendance record for 13 years. In these Christian religious schools, he was brain-washed with heterosexual supremacist propaganda, where he was taught that marriage to women was better than marriage to men. The brain-washing messed up the mind of the young gay man, which caused him to marry a woman, and have sex with her numerous times. The indoctrination that goes on in those fundamentalist Christian schools, can cause young gay men to do crazy things, like have sex with women several times.

Robinson ended up becoming the father of two beautiful daughters, and those daughters later gave him two equally beautiful grandchildren. Like all fathers, Robinson loves his children very much, and he was quoted as saying "I cannot imagine my life without Jamee and Ella". It makes perfect sense for Robinson to love his 2 children and 2 grandchildren, because, as a 66 year old man, he will have 4 people to care for him in his old age.

Other 66 year old gay men who were born outside the Bible Belt have to face retirement alone, with no children or grandchildren to take care of them. But, at least, they did not suffer the torture of being raised by poor, bigoted, ignorant, redneck, fundamentalist Christian, tobacco farmers from Kentucky. We should all thank the ACLU, the New York Times, MSNBC, and other liberal organizations, who are working to bring tolerance, in order to ensure that gay children are not raised by heterosexual supremacist hillbilly parents.

A teeny-weeny bit of sarcasm went into the above post, but it was mostly accurate. Here is wikipedia's version of the Gene Robinson story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Robinson

While I do believe that some men are born with very feminine traits, and there is a biological basis for girly boy behavior, virtually all men are physically capable of sexual intercourse with women. My advice to middle-class urban and suburban parents with gay children, who want to have biological grandchildren, is to get fundamentalist Christian rural people to raise your children for you.

Little Gene tormented all the male animals on the family farm as none of the neighbor boys would touch the little faggot with a ten-foot pole.

If he is gay, how did he manage to have two children by a woman? I thought gay meant “solely sexually attracted to the same sex”.

Does the average woman REALLY want to risk having sex with somebody who screws men on the side, and who may, as a result, be a carrier of multiple STD’s, including HIV?

The liberal explanation would be that, because he was so oppressed by society, that he pretended to be a straight man, and married a woman. After all, to liberals, societal expectations and social norms are verboten.

I don’t want to delve into the mechanics of it all. If he was turned off by sexual contact with a female, similar to how we straight men are turned off by sexual contact with another male, it makes you wonder how it all happened. That is, if we believe the liberal line that gays are born that way and all that.

According to the liberal world view which I was trying to parody in my post, a gay young man who is subjected to heterosexual supremacist propaganda (also known as a normal parenting), can have his mind so messed up, that it can cause him to have sex with a woman. But liberals tell us that when gay men have sex with women, they do not enjoy it.

The Cristian message is hate the sin but love the sinner. Not always easy to apply in practice. It may require expulsion from Churches for practicing homos and keeping them away from our kids. But it does not mean that we should invade their privacy, refuse to hire them in areas where their homosexuality is not relevant to performance, or that everything they say or do is wrong. Unfortunately, the gays are not helping their cause by getting in the faces of the morally upright.

It wouldn’t be good for a child to have a very girly homosexual man as a parent. There is usually a kind of self-centeredness and hysteria to them that would make life miserable for a child.

The term [Fundamentalism] was born when conservative Protestants in early-20th-century America committed themselves to defend the five "fundamentals" of their faith -- the inerrancy of the Bible, virgin birth and deity of Jesus, doctrine of atonement, bodily resurrection of Jesus, and His imminent return.
-- from the thread The many forms of fundamentalism
Fundamentalist: A term created during the turn-of-the-20th-century Protestant church splits to define those who held to the “fundamentals” of Christianity—the inerrancy of the Bible, the virgin birth of Jesus and his literal resurrection from the dead. The term is now considered pejorative. (Wheaton College philosophy professor Alvin Plantinga famously observed, “The full meaning of the term…can be given by something like ‘stupid sumbitch whose theological opinions are considerably to the right of mine.’”)

I’m not buying the BS. The mechanics wouldn’t work.

My mom was a teenager in the '40s, and she said gay guys made the best dates, if she just wanted to go out, not looking for anything serious.

They were nice, they were gentlemen, they dressed well, bought her whatever she wanted, and she didn't have to worry about them putting the moves on her.

If it feels good, do it. That’s how many live their lives, no core values.

My mother told me she wasn’t even aware of the existence of “homosexuality” until she was well into her twenties. Ditto my grandfather.

I think I was about 12 years old. And it took me another year before I really even believed it! The thought of two dudes was just too unconceivably gross to fully register as a reality.

What a pant load. Of course he can imagine a life without Jamee and Ella, all he had to do was practice his perversions much earlier than he did, and Jamee and Ella would not have ever existed. Can there be any doubt that this affliction is a mental illness, and a particularly pernicous one at that?
