This reminds me of the guy from a week or two ago who supposedly wrote something racist for the tip but it turned out it was a takeout order and the handwriting didn’t match.

Given the recent spate of “servers gone bad,” I’m definitely skeptical as well.

I often leave cash tips for my servers, and I’ll write “Cash” on the tip line for the server to prevent these sorts of shenanigans if they think my wife or I were being particularly painful.

Besides, how did this couple know the server was a lesbian? If you’re in my face about your sexual proclivities, I’d likely think twice about my feelings for you as well.

Jeez, I'm surprised that the diner was a) literate enough to spell the note correctly and b) took the time to write a note, since he was likely in a hurry to get home and beat his wife abuse his domestic partner and kick his dog.

I do not agree with their life style or the crap they throw in our face about gay..I do however think the person that did that about the tip should have ask for another server instead of writing the note..To me that person was an ass and just trying to get out of a tip..

I don’t blame her for being upset... if she gave good waitress service. If she was in his face (so to speak) about her life style, that’s not good service.

But, if she was efficient and polite, she deserves a tip, because in this country restaurant wages are so low that it is presumed tips will make up part of the income.

That said, there are selfish customers who don’t tip, regardless of the excuse. Everyone who’s waited has been stiffed.

I think this is the latest fad in phony hate crimes. It’s perfect really. It doesn’t require the defacing of one’s body or property. The so called perps are never identified and can never defend themselves against the accusation. And most people never question the veracity of the story, so the server gets to create hatred toward the villains while blaming them.
But are receipt required to be turned in at the end of the day? Don’t those receipts have to go to the office? Has anyone noticed the server always has the receipt and the manager is saying he saw the note too? How could she have taken the store’s copy of the receipt home and uploaded it to the web?
So the current tally is three: two crimes against gays and one note that allegedly featured a racial slur.

Worse than making the server angry is to make the airline ticket counter person angry because the flights are late. I personally have witnessed these folks deliberately take the checked baggage of some A$$HAT customer and look at his ticket destination while muttering: "Hmmmmm going to Cleveland? I'll send his bags to MUMBAI." And then do so! Granted this was the 1970s when I saw this done while working concourse security (in-house, not TSA).
