She’s a 41y/o Econ prof(don’t know what school) named Kshama Sawant. She was heavily involved with the Occupy movement in Seattle. More recently she was involved with the push for $15 min. Wage in Seattle. She also supports rent control and a “tax on millionaires” to fund transit and “other services”, according to ABC news. So she’s a socialist all right, a big one.
I would like to point out that I live in Everett now.
Since this race took so long to be called and was nip and tuck, I tweeted that the people in Seattle might want to be diligent about fraud, but I guess that Conlin, her opponent, isn’t concerned about it.

Eventually, they won’t have anyone to pay the bills. I’ve never seen a communist/socialist/marxist that lived like the “little people”.
More Kshama Sawant factoids from Wikipedia:
Supports granting unconditional citizenship for all persons in the U.S. without citizenship. (I want to know if this includes criminals)
Supports collectivization of amazon.com So Jeff Bezos probably didn’t vote for her.
Supports “using government to organize mass protests”( whatever that means)
Endorsed by the alternative weekly The Stranger, and also some prominent Democrats, but they don’t name them.
Endorsed by somebody from Rage Against the Machine, but I don’t think they’re a Seattle band, so who cares, unless he sent money.
Could be one of the Kardashian women though.
Sioux Falls school board
To quote Savage from yesterday: God bless America! Curse those who hate Her!
Definitely.
Looks like her, but I only have my phone, and the picture is tiny.
She’s originally from Pune, India and has been a U.S. citizen for three years. She teaches at both Seattle Central, a community college, and Seattle U, which I understood to be a Catholic college, but is within walking distance if the other one.
According to a site called laist.com, Joseph McStay ran a company that installed water fountains.
i agree, it was awful but too much to base the whole show on,
he gets obsessive about some cases and puts his movie hat on
