That’s funny. I’ve had social interactions my whole life and never felt the need for gun violence.

Understood, but the article has some validity. Culturally, Black youth are likely to be surrounded by more bad eggs than many of us. They hear the rants about victim-hood and the oaths to stand strong in the face of "racism", etc. When they gather in groups, they can egg each other on to do what a lone individual might not do. Demonstration is the Knock-Out "game" where they do it as a group and try to find weaker and isolated victims. The group serves as a distraction to give the puncher a better chance of surprise. Without support, they are more likely to become Trayvon...
