I wasn’t aware of this stuff, but I think that it is obvious that the country is becoming tragically and ironically more divided along race and class lines at a time when there is even less reason for it than ever. And it’s because of leftist, class warfarist politicians and public figures who believe in zero-sum economics and other nonsense.
I wonder if this knockout game fad will make it to the West Coast, and if it comes to Seattle if Everett will follow. I’m guessing no, but I suppose it might be a good time to get back out to the target range and renew my carry permit, and well, yes, get a gun again. I was assaulted in 1990 and know for certain that it was one of those classic cases where having a firearm would have led to a different outcome.
I am a bit concerned that this knockout game story might be one of those “crises” that is hyped up by media, you know, like different health scares and so forth.

Ororo can go suck an egg.
I can not stand his smug look, as if he is so superior to everyone.
Oh, I will NOT be reading his books.

Oh yeah.. I'm sure there's audio somewhere I heard it at the time it happened. Here's part of the discussion.. Imus was laughing like he and his Rolling Stone good buddy Taibbi laughed about Bretbart's death. Taibbi had just written a column expressing his happiness that Bretbart was dead (he died the night before).

"There is no other cure than to kill Matt Drudge," O'Reilly charged on the IMUS in the MORNING radio show.

"I just want to tell everybody that Matt Drudge is smoking crack - right now, in South Miami Beach on Washington Avenue... And the authorities should know it."

RE: knockout game story might be one of those “crises” that is hyped up by media

Check out the Seattle Mardi Gras February 27, 2001.

The violence has become somewhat formalized and a kind of sport instead of just beating up whites (& Asians). The idea is to hit someone in a place that they are out cold while still standing.

Another thread explained the Brachial Plexus Origin to which I asked:

Brachial Plexus. This thing?
and he responded:

Brachial Plexus ORIGIN. Go higher than that; up on the side of the neck. If you want to experiment, take your right hand and place it on the left side of your neck, palm out. Have someone LIGHTLY tap the palm with an open hand; it doesn’t take much force to “ring your bell”.

From what I see in these videos, the “troubled youths” are delivering deadly force blows by using the bony part of their wrist or hand. Note when the victims drop to the ground they make no attempt to break their fall - their brains are no longer connected to their bodies.

And as far back as when the TV show Cops started I recall shows from Seattle that featured a black cop who warned whites to stay out of this or that neighborhood. And I remember the 1960s and the number of whites dragged out of rush hour traffic in Cincinnati (and other cities), beaten and maimed for life. It's real. I've posted startling statistics from DoJ showing years when there were thousands of black-on-white attacks and ZERO white-on-black attacks (for that particular violent crime).

I think it's that kind of violence combined with "swarming" that's been around for decades.

This is why I despise Matt Taibbi and won’t buy Rolling Stone—ever. It’s nothing like the publication it was back in the 60s and 70s when I was young. In those days it really was a counterculture publication featuring some intellectually honest writers. I’m sure a lot of those people are appalled at what it’s become.

I’m pretty sure that must have been Tacoma. I used to watch Cops a lot when I watched TV and Tacoma was featured almost every episode but Seattle never was. Tacoma, and the Hilltop neighborhood in particular, has always has had a dodgier reputation than Seattle. I went on an MLK memorial run there one year before I was too crippled up to run and it definitely went through some places I wouldn’t go after dark.
Now as far as Mardi Gras goes—Christopher Kimes was the 20 year old who died. I wasn’t there but understand that what had happened was that radio stations had been hyping Mardi Gras celebrations in the Pioneer Square neighborhood all day. In those days it was a night club( if you want to call them that, most were 100 year old bars with dance floors the size of postage stamps)district. But the drinking age is 21, and when these kids went down there they couldn’t get into the establishments and had nothing to do but mill around the cobblestone streets looking for trouble. As I understand it, Kimes got killed when he intervened to protect a young lady. Pioneer Square is not the entertainment district any more. Several clubs were closed down by law enforcement during that era because of assaults and other crime episodes, mostly gang-related.

You know, what’s ironic is that Mardi Gras is actually a religious holiday. People are partying down before lent, which leads into Easter.

Did he just say that the Bunny Ranch manager is named Dennis Hopp?

He seems to have turned over a new leaf as far as staff is concerned. No more Nanny Diaries—Devil Wears Prada behavior—he now compliments them on air.

Those damn Vulcans again.

I had been puzzled by videos of Knockout Game (unwitting) opponents' reaction to the offensive tactics of the Knockout Game players.

The video showed the victims. er.. I mean opponents (don't want to be racist) falling as though dead (like a sack of rocks), making no effort to brace himself (or in one case herself).

This seems to explain it.

I wonder how much Knockout Game team owners like Oprah "all old white folks need to just die" Winfrey pay their guys.

I just realized that it can’t be O ‘Reilly because O’Reilly doesn’t have a radio show any more. I keep thinking that he does.
Whoever it is, it’s somebody who follows him “in some of these markets.” Here he doesn’t directly follow him, Lars Larson is in-between.

RE: 2001 Seattle Mardi Gras

What really happened. Another view.

This is why it is wiki graffiti:

from the WaybackMachine

This shows a spike in edits before the 2012 elections. There were the original posting plus one change followed by a series of changes that were all during Obama Nation; the last one as of this AM was: "This page was last modified on 24 September 2013 at 19:33. "

Here is the original posting thanks to WaybackMachine. I added HTML code to enhance readability.

On February_27, 2001, during Seattle's Mardi_Gras celebration, a riot broke out in the Pioneer_Square area of the city. The chief of police ordered the police at the scene not to intervene, supposedly because he feared escalation of the violence.

The Seattle police force later voted a resolution of "no confidence" in him. Several of the perpetrators admitted to racial motivation in their attacks and the Seattle Police recommended they be charged with hate crimes.

However, none of the perpetrators were charged by the prosecutors with hate crimes, which if convicted, would have increased their jail sentences.

Under interrogation, Khalid Adams stated that he "most likely" kicked a white man on the ground because of his race and that he believed a race war was in progress.

http://www.metrokc.gov/proatty/news/2001/Adamspr.htm As reported by ''Stranger'' :''This was a race riot...the kind of race riot Seattle produced was different, scarier in two ways: (1) blacks exploded not in their own neighborhood, but in a white, commercial district; (2) their rage was directed not at the police, but at white civilians.''

The Seattle establishment and media at first tried to deny the nature of the attacks, but too much video footage was out to cover up.

http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=7008

Seattle created a task force to investigate the cause of the Mardi Gras riots. Initially task force meetings were closed to the public, but protest forced the city to open them. Under pressure from the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, the city forbade any discussion among task force members of what role race may have had in the riots.

http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=6811

By the time the disorder was over, one man (Kris Kime) was dead, and more than 70 others injured.

On the day after the Mardi Gras riots ended, Seattle had a magnitude 6.8 earthquake, the worst in 37 years. The scale of the Nisqually Earthquake caused people to refocus their attention on earthquake recovery and away from the violence of the riots.

Mardi Category:Riots Category:Riots_and_civil_unrest_in_the_United_States
My emphasis.

There were general acts of disorder mixed in but the real damage was racial it seems clear to me.

I followed the event closely as did talk shows around the country, the MSM employees ignored it of course. I recall that one of the few arrested that night was an Asian man who had a gun that he used to protect himself from being beaten to death.

The story occupied a lot of talk radio around the country for weeks, not days, as the shenanigans of the city government and media attempted to coverup what happened. The policemen who confronted Kerlikowske, et al are heroes and helped tell the real story.

Years later I said that wiki had a good accounting here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Mardi_Gras_Riots. At the time I noted that Wiki reported: This page was last modified on 12 February 2009, at 23:46.

Local government and media tried to -- no other term for it -- cover up the black-on-white wanton violence. Mr. Kime rush to the defense of a white girl being beaten and was beaten to death. Initially newspapers reported that Mr. Kime "slipped and hit his head."

Seattle police force voted a resolution of "no confidence" in Chief Kerlikowske.

The last newspaper article I read about the riots was a kind of "celebration" for the death of Mr. Kime as a Seattle paper reported on the happiness his body parts brought to others.
