Susan J. Demas: Tea Party's popularity falling after alienating independents, women
The Flint Journal ^ | November 22, 2013 | Susan J. Demas

Posted on 11/22/2013 2:46:08 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

The Tea Party's popularity has taken a beating in Michigan after the government shutdown, with almost half of voters viewing the conservative movement negatively.

And more than a third -- 35.3 percent, to be exact -- have a "strongly unfavorable" opinion of the Tea Party, according to a new Lambert Edwards & Associates (LE&A)/Denno Research poll done from Nov. 12 to 14.

Only 28.8 percent of voters view the movement positively, with a scant 10.7 percent giving it "strongly favorable" marks.

The Michigan poll is consistent with national surveys showing the Tea Party's popularity plummeted to record lows after the shutdown, which was the brainchild of movement leaders like U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

But the news gets worse.

Women tend to decide elections. And they're not buying what the Tea Party is selling.

By almost a 2-to-1 margin (44 percent to 25 percent) in the LE&A/Denno poll, women see the Tea Party as a negative force. One-third of women have a very unfavorable opinion, with only 12 percent seeing the Tea Party very positively.....

Wonder if the poll was taken before Obamacare turned to dreck?

Again, my recommendation.

Change the name from TEA PARTY to...

... TRADITIONAL REPUBLICAN PARTY.

.

(Attribution welcome, but not needed.

The GOP candidates that run on a platform opposing the Tea Party do so at their own peril.

Trust me, Susan Dumbass is Michigan's own Special Ed Shultz. You can pretty much write off anything she says as psychotic liberal fantasy.

Terri Land is no dummy. She’s openly supporting defunding/repealing/replacing Obamacare.

I wonder if this is a "Michigan" poll:?

Do you support:
[] A... Rainbows and Unicorns and Democrats
[] B... Kitten-crushing, Gun-slinging Tea Party hatemongers?

Do they ask Tea Party people or RINOS and Progressives?

Just as San Francisco sets the tone for California, Detroit sets the tone for Michigan.

The GOP gets less women voters anyway. The strongly against are hardcore Democrat and low information voters.

How many black women have strongly unfavorable views of the Tea Party? 95%.

Just as San Francisco sets the tone for California, Detroit sets the tone for Michigan.

So let me get this straight. A BANKRUPT city tells the rest of Michigan what to think? If true, doesn't say much for Michigan voters now does it?

Not like it used to . In the scheme of things Detroit is becoming increasingly irrelevant as its population and political influence continues to dwindle

It helps that our secretary of state has her boot firmly on the neck of the Detroit election process.

Detroit will still vote democrat but they won’t be doing it with 200,000 more votes than people. There’s a new state law that requires oversight of traditional “problem areas” with Detroit and Flint being the biggest problems there are.

The Marxist regime and the MSM’s continual assault on the Tea Party is responsible for the perceived negatives.
