The 'Knockout Game' Is Terrible But Almost Certainly Overhyped

In fact in the case with the St. Louis man, he was killed as was mentioned in my piece the suspect in that case was sentenced to life prison. So these kids need to know that this is anything, but a game.
KATE BOLDUAN, CNN ANCHOR: And they should be facing very serious consequences when something like this happens. Let's talk more about this. Let's bring in former New York City Detective Harry Houck here to help us understand that. What is your take on this? Is this a growing trend? Is this an urban myth or maybe better stated as growing trend or group of isolated incidents?
HARRY HOUCK, FORMER NYPD DETECTIVE: Well, you know, because we all know about it, what's going on, the whole country knows about the knockout game pretty much. All right, so this is definitely a trend. You know, this is no urban myths. Urban myths really don't exist. These attacks exist in everyone's minds, especially those victims.

Well there is a reason it’s called Polar Bear Hunting
Now if REAL Polar Bears were involved PETA and the Left would be going nuts.
Won’t work. Unfortunately.
Aggravated assault, or whatever the term is in the state in question, is probably the maximum that will work.
Atempted murder requires that the prosecutor prove to the jury that the attacker(s) intended to kill. And that just doesn’t seem to be the story in most of these cases. The goal appears to mostly indeed be to knock the victim down/out. There’s a considerable jump from that to intending to kill, and being able to prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.
That said, I hope they prosecute all participants, especially those taping or photographing such attacks, to the max allowed by law. And change the law if needed.
It really would be nice if these thugs would try to punch out an actual Polar Bear.

Face it, unless the authorities take control, the large inner cities will continue to descend into third world cesspools (if they aren't already there).
It is far more difficult to take your city back than to never give it away.

It would seem to me that if it were common knowledge among a large percentage of members of a group with the perpetrator that it was not uncommon for victims to die, and there have been deaths, premeditated murder would be a possible charge. They knew their actions had resulted in death but they did it anyway. Not too much of a stretch if you ask me. Viewing from the other side; suicide bombers probably know there were instances where the device detonated with no one except the carrier dying but they went ahead with their task.

That would actually be a fitting punishment. If found guilty of killing a person, they should just be locked in a cage with a hungry polar bear. If they can knock him out with bare fists, they could go home. If not, they’d be saving the zoo keeper some food costs.
The NYPD is obviously a bunch of Klansmen.
