For the People" might be the slogan of John Morgans law firm, but John Morgan and his family certainly dont act like any common person they represent. While they outwardly state theyre not for the powerful, the social media accounts of John Morgans sons paint a very different picture of the uber lawyer and his family.
At first glance, John Morgans son Matt Morgan seems like an average guy: a polished, prim, and proper attorney. His Twitter account seems normal enough. No crazy tweets, no fancy cars, no ritzy vacations. Matt Morgan retweets the Dalai Lama and Pope Francis, who promote messages of goodwill to all men.
But a deeper look at Matts Instagram account gives viewers a glimpse into a life of private jets, trips to Paris, fancy hotel rooms, meetings with Barack Obama and private performances by Jimmy Buffett at the Morgan's 18,000 square foot mansion.
Its a life 99 percent of Floridians dont have, and quite frankly, a life most Floridians cant even imagine.
Morgans other son, Daniel Morgan, is even flashier on his Instagram account. Daniel isnt even out of law school -- hes only 24 -- yet lives the lifestyle of a rich playboy: he hangs out with Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls, pops bottles at Las Vegas pool parties, and even rode in the parade for the Boston Red Sox after their World Series victory this year. In one photo, Daniel Morgan says even his dog -- who appears to be seated comfortably aboard the Morgan & Morgan private jet -- refuses to fly a commercial airline. Im not complaining, said Morgan in the photo.
Matt Morgan called the private jet the wings of justice in a photo of the plane, which is emblazoned with the Morgan & Morgan logo. The plane takes them around the country as they go vacationing.
The Morgans pop bottles on their private jet, smiling as the camera flashes for another shot.
Charlie Crist even makes an appearance in one photo, sitting poolside in shorts at the Morgans' beachfront property, apparently enjoying the plethora of libations provided at the hands of his boss.
Another photo shows Daniel Morgan clad in sunglasses wearing a shirt that says My Game Is Money.
The slogan apparently couldnt be more perfect for the Morgans, who seem to use social media to take every opportunity imaginable to wave their ritzy lifestyle in front of the common mans face.
In a world of social media, appearances are important, especially for people like John Morgan, who have made it their lifes mission to represent the people of Florida. On top of that, Morgan waves the banner of several high-profile campaigns like the medical marijuana petition and supports former governor Charlie Crist in his campaign to take back his old job.
Morgan has even toyed with the possibility of his other son, Mike, running for Florida attorney general next year. Just this week, he was asking his followers what they thought of Mike Morgan making a run for Pam Bondis job. Matt Morgan did the same on his own Twitter account.
But while social media is one thing, appearances are important in politics, too. Gov. Rick Scott has been criticized by Crist and others for flying his private jet around the state to hold press conferences, but a search for similar photos of Scott and his family jet-setting Morgan style came up dry.
John Morgan is dipping his hand deep into the 2014 elections, but just like anyone else involved in politics, perhaps he should be mindful of public perception before preaching hes getting involved for the greater good of Floridians and not for, well, something else.
so what?
He didn’t steal it from the taxpayers like Rangel his cohorts
And besides, his sniveling brats are riding dada’s coat tails and will fall on their faces when he croaks
Also, the corporations don’t do themselves any favors when they make all their decision based on economic factors instead of safety and what is right, so they get sued and fork over bigtime.
true, but it seriously irks me that their money invariably goes to support dems whose legislation support the slip-and-fall industry and block tort reform. It is a circle similar to the unions’ support of dems, with a less obvious but nevertheless definite effect on the taxpayer.
tort reform is another form of socialism
we have it here in Kansas
the local hospital can lobotomize you by accident and all you get is 250K, end of story
don’t buy all the garbage about tort reform
damages have to be linked to evidence and large awards are given if reckless disregard for the injured is shown
They can do whatever they want, yes. But these guys are almost singlehandedly funding the democrats here in Florida. That’s an exaggeration, but they are far and away putting more funds and providing their home for Obama fundraisers. If anything, hypocrite is a term that should be associated with them. They are ‘for the people’ and backing the party that claims the same, but living like they people they all campaign against.
so do Pelosi, John Kerry, Caroline Kennedy, barak obama, Hilary Clinton and so on and so forth
limousine liberals
are they despicable control freaks?
yes
are they liars?
yes
so what
what is the author suggesting?
strip them of their wealth?
that is stealing
A private jet? How 'for the people' is that?
“dont buy all the garbage about tort reform”
you’re correct, I haven’t educated myself enough on this, but I am unable to reconcile what you wrote about lobotomizing vs the cost of services. The only answer I come up with is that we have never really seen the free market.
As long as they came by their wealth by fleecing their clients, and not at the slop trough of FedGov handouts and redistribution, what’s the issue?
If they can afford it, fine.
Others want the same thing? Go to law school, sell out your morals, seek out those who need your unique combination of blood thirst and egotism, and have at it!
I don't think that it is much of an exaggeration. What are they going to do with all of the Charley Crist Morgan and Morgan bill boards along I-4, seems like a huge campaign contribution to me.
John Morgan bombs the Memphis airwaves with commercials. They are so obnoxious and ubiquitous that I have even heard liberals making fun of him. Our local shysters must hate him for stealing their easy corporate extortion cases.
there are 2 separate issues:
one is that the M.O. of the left should always be exposed. Their societal strata invariably consists of a powerful and wealthy elite who talk the leftist talk to insulate themselves from criticism by the underclass.
two: it should be explained, lest anyone get the wrong idea, that stripping them of their wealth is not what should be advocated. Elevating their underclass is what they should be doing, rather than promoting their victimization for contingency fees.
yes, I totally agree
John Morgan also has a history of DUI arrests...no time done, of course
One of the biggest DNC contributors out there
John Morgan used to advertise about his start in union politics and boast of his dirt poor upbringing in Appalachia (Kentucky) but lately his advertising has a ‘family’ glow with his wife and children featured. He does leave me cold as he seems to epitomize the image of the ‘ambulance chaser!’
Sickens me that he went to UF
Is this guy not liberal enough to pass muster??
The MSM have no problem with superwealthy leftists
Soros, Buffett and others laugh at his poverty
