Ken Skowronski Wins Wisconsin Assembly Special Election

FRANKLIN – On Tuesday night, Ken Skowronski (R-Franklin) won the 82nd District Assembly special election in very convincing fashion.

With all the precincts counted, Skowronski defeated Greendale Village President John Hermes (D-Greendale) 64.6 to 35.4 percent. The Franklin City Councilman won every single precinct in the 82nd District on his path to victory.

When breaking down the results, Ken Skowronski won his hometown of Franklin 70.6 to 29.2 percent. He won all six of the city’s aldermanic districts by comfortable margins. In the City of Greenfield, Skowronski won 61.1 to 38.9 percent. John Hermes was close to winning two precincts in Greenfield, but he could not overcome the large advantage built by Skowronski. The Village of Greendale went for Skowronski despite it was considered to be the strongest area for John Hermes. Three out of the five precincts in Greendale went for the Franklin City Councilman by strong margins which resulted in the village going 57 to 42 percent for the Republican candidate.

Skowronski will take over for Jeff Stone who resigned from the Wisconsin State Assembly in October to accept a position in the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. Brad Courtney, the Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, said: “Ken Skowronski will be a staunch supporter of Republican reforms, and I congratulate him on a well-deserved win in the 82nd Assembly District Special Election. Ken is a great advocate for small business, and will continue to be so in Madison, working to improve Wisconsin’s environment for job creation.”

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin did not issue a statement relating to 82nd District Assembly Special Election. No date has been announced on when Ken Skowronski will be sworn into the Assembly.

3 for 3 in special elections so far this year.

Get getting rid of Dale Shultz next would be wonderful.

Grumblings that Walker is looking at eliminating the State income tax. Amazon confirming a second distribution center in Kenosha with another 500 jobs. The casino will be OK’d after the new year with another couple thousand jobs.

Need more private sector job growth but we’ve got things going the right way here in WI.

Not sure I want the country getting a hold of our Guv. ;)

“..A good thing...”

Only if he’s a real Conservative and not a RINO.

Which is he?

If Hermes would demand a recount I’m sure they could find a dozen or more boxes of uncounted ballots to swing the election. After all, Skowronski only got 64.6% of the votes. Given some time, the Democrats can make up that margin.

So is this a R pickup or a R hold?

I guess it would have been better for a hard core democrat to have won.

“.. guess it would have been better for a hard core democrat to have won...”

I Didn’t say that, now did I?

Is there any other KIND of Democrat anymore, other than a hardcore assh*le communist???

My question remains; is he a Conservative, a moderate squish, or an out and out RINO?

It’s a fair question. Can YOU answer it, is the next one.

If he’s a RINO, then he’s no better than a Dem. If he’s a squish “moderate” then that’s almost as bad.

In the case of RINO or squish, yes - it WOULD be better if a hardcore Dem won, because at least then you know he’s the enemy and don’t have to worry about him caving in on some important piece of legislation - or worse, “reaching out across the aisle” to his Comrades at every opportunity.

Better the POS you know, than the one that stabs you when it does the most damage. These times are too important to elect people who talk out of both sides of their face.

If he’s a Conservative - an American and one of us, that is, then good for you guys. That’s a definite win and I’m glad to hear it.

Otherwise... as I said, it’s a fair question that needs to be answered.

Is he on our side of things, or not? Nobody really answered that question...
