In practice this would of course mean punishing them for what some LEO or psychologist is able to convince a jury they might do some day. This precedent would of course never be used to punish those who hole other unpopular religious or scientific beliefs. / s
Punishing or executing someone for (supposedly) being a pedophile is in principle no different from punishing him for being a homophobe or a racist.

BTW, I reject the idea that every child who it molested or woman who is raped has his/her life totally destroyed as a result. I refuse to accept that people are incapable of bouncing back from even the most horrific abuse. See the young girl in Salt Lake who appears to have recovered well.

Pedophilia is not an action, it is an inclination.
Do we imprison or execute people because somebody else thinks they have a tendency to be inclined to commit murder? Rape? Theft?

Sorry, but this is more loose use of words.
1st point. AFAIK I have never seen an adult male of whatever age who pursued 18+ females referred to as a pedophile, except possibly in jest. If you have examples, please post them.
2nd point. Pedophilia is a medical term and thus has a fairly precise meaning. It refers to attraction to (not necessarily acted on) pre-pubescent children. Puberty is a biological phenomenon, not a legal one. Chronological age is not relevant.
Someone who is attracted to post-pubescents (again regardless of chronological age) is called an ephebophile. Most of those we call pedophiles in denunciation are actually ephebophiles, medically speaking.
I have no problem with severe penalties for child molestation below the age of consent, but I think there is good reason to keep a bright line between the two types of philia. The rape/seduction of a 16 year old girl is NOT the same thing as the rape of a 3 year old and should not be treated exactly the same by the law or by society.
Final point. I firmly believe what/who one is sexually attracted to is something that is generally beyond one's conscious control, while actions are not beyond control.
Punishing people for their attractions rather than their actions would be to accept the liberal POV that a person cannot resist his inclinations and therefore by extension that he is not fully responsible for his actions.

I’ve been aware of Reisman’s work in exposing that lying pervert Kinsey for many years now. Such people have always existed in the darkness, but in America at least, there were fewer of them before the rise of the ACLU and internet porn. Now they are demanding affirmation in the light of day. My goal is to work toward allowing legal discrimination (freedom of association) once again, so that moral people of all colors can legally shut immorality out of their neighborhoods, schools and places of employment. It is disgusting to have children exposed to the swill that runs through the schools and the media like a human waste sewer.

The answer to the question is, of course it is. The problem is that all sexual orientations other than attraction to sexually mature people of the opposite sex are besetting temptations to grievous sins, which should be fought against by prayer and fasting, rather than “embraced” or “celebrated”, as is any variant of the normal sexual orientation which cannot be restrained to monogamy within the bounds of marriage.
