Some of the placements are unexpected. I would have expected Fairfax County to be higher up than Falls Church and I would have expected elitist Montgomery County to be higher up the list than Howard. I’m also surprised that Anne Arundelis here. It doesn’t seem that wealthy.

Putnam County, NY is on the list, but Westchester County is nowhere to be found? Westchester used to be consistently one of the richest counties in America. I guess people are moving to exurbia.

Loudoun County is more exurbia than suburbia and Howard County is technically considered part of the Baltimore market.

Falls Church is home of Northrop Graumman, Dyncorp, CSC and several other major defense contractors.

Are they in Falls Church city or the "Falls Church" post office in Fairfax County?

” Loudoun County is more exurbia than suburbia and Howard County is technically considered part of the Baltimore market.”

Baltimore-Washington are all confided part of the same “CMSA” these days.

Monkey County is, these days, more and more a victim of their own socialist policies.

With more and more people fleeing the inner ‘burbs, it doesn’t surprise me to see A-A, Calvert, Saint Mary’s, and Charles rising in the ratings.

Maybe the government views it that way, but the people who live in the area don't.

Nobody reads the Baltimore Sun in DC nor the Washington Post in Baltimore (despite the Post's claims.) The TV networks have separate affiliates in Washington and Baltimore, as do Rush, Sean, Mark Levin, and other hosts. Baltimore and Washington fans root for different football and baseball teams and mostly against each other's.

So how can they be considered one SMSA? Are Cincinnati and Dayton one market?

Really? I know lots of folks who live in both A-A and Howard who work in DC or even in NOVA. I live in PG, yet for a long time I worked in Howard and I still do 90%of my shopping there. As often as not, I listen to WCBP and 98 Rock rather than WMAL and DC101.

Half the people in my parish (in the Archdiocese of Washington, not Baltimore) live in Howard or A-A counties (from places like Savage, Columbia, North Laurel, Russet and Maryland City)

My daughter is a Ravens fan, the neighbors across the street from me have one ‘skins fan, one Ravens fan, and one Steelers fan. (This is far north PG,mind you)

While I don’t follow baseball, if I was to do so, I would far prefer to go to the Brickyard rather than go to Anacostia.

When anybody from where I live travels by air, we fly out of Baltimore, not out of National or Dulles.

While I’m sure that people in Glen Burnie or Ellicott City would consider themselves as being from Baltimore, I really don’t know whether somebody from Davidsonville, Edgewater, or Deale would have that much identification.

Good point. They are NOT in the city of Falls Church, but down the street in “Falls Church” of Fairfax County

I’m on the PG-AA border (AA side), and that’s considered the dividing line between Metro DC and Metro Bawlmore.
