President Blasts Congress Recess from Some Hawaiian Golf Course
Townhall.com ^ | January 5, 2013 | Michael Schaus

Posted on 01/05/2014 6:05:35 AM PST by Kaslin

It’s nice to see that despite being on vacation in Hawaii, the President can still carve out some time – between rounds of golf and snorkeling – to insult his political opponents. After all, nothing encourages bi-partisanship in the New Year like a little name calling and mudslinging. While enjoying his multi-million-dollar vacation (oh yeah… you and I paid for that) Mr. Obama decided to chastise Republicans for leaving DC without extending long-term unemployment.

The chutzpah! Via Whitehouse.gov: (Emphasis added)

Just a few days after Christmas, more than one million of our fellow Americans lost a vital economic lifeline – the temporary insurance that helps folks make ends meet while they look for a job. Republicans in Congress went home for the holidays and let that lifeline expire. And for many of their constituents who are unemployed through no fault of their own, that decision will leave them with no income at all.

Wow. And to think some of us consider roughly 1 ½ years of unemployment generous. Heck, after a year of not working, you’d almost think that a lack of income would become somewhat expected… But the vacationing President (did I mention that he traveled to Hawaii over the Holidays?) wasn’t done with a hypocritical stab at Congressional Republican’s Christmas schedule.

We make this promise to one another because it makes a difference to a mother who needs help feeding her kids while she’s looking for work; to a father who needs help paying the rent while learning the skills to get a new and better job. And denying families that security is just plain cruel.

Denying families extended benefits is just cruel… Well… He won me over. Let’s abolish any limits on unemployment! Maybe we should just guarantee everyone unlimited unemployment insurance! (Apparently there is no specific font-type for sarcasm… My apologies.)

What made Obama’s comments even more egregious (looking past the fact that our golf-loving President just blew a few million tax payer bucks for his “Mele Kalikimaka”) is his inability to recognize his culpability in the unemployment situation of America. Obama has overseen the worst economic “recovery” in history as the worst “jobs President” since the Great Depression.

It’s hard to escape the thought that long-term unemployment would be far less of an issue if our economic situation was – ya know – improving. From the Stimulus bill (remember the trillion dollars of sudden and “necessary” spending that we were told would immediately lower our unemployment rates?), to Obamacare (which greatly increases the financial burden of hiring new employees) the White House has repeatedly implemented policies that discourage economic vitality.

The President is trying to blame Republicans for the symptoms of his economic policies. Jobs, Mr. President, will do far more to cure the chronic unemployment that is rampant in America than a few more government unemployment checks. And jobs do not come from government programs, regulations, or higher taxes… They come from the private sector. The same private sector you have continually threatened with higher taxes, increased regulation, and increased government control.

But at least the million-plus Americans who have extinguished their unemployment insurance know there is a rich guy, on some golf course in Hawaii, who is willing to blame someone for their plight. I mean, heck… That’s almost as good as a job. Right?

Republicans in Congress went home for the holidays ...

Seems to me this is all Ø'bamas fault, as he, the imperial one, controls when Congress is in recess or not.

This guy is below whale excrement in my opinion. The unfortunate thing about flying back from Hawaii to the west coast is there are no mountains to run into till reaching the Sierras. He is one evil SOB and we have to live with him for another approximately 1110 and a half days. He will go down in history as The Terminator as he has destroyed the US from its economy to its military to its social fabric.

He’s a low rent, high-horse, self-appointed ‘royal’ trying to stave off the coming November avalanche against the “kings’s guard,” i.e., the House and Senate.

Yet, our media treats this man’s words like those out of the mouth of Jesus, even though they know much better than that.

They might have gone home for the holidays, but that does not mean they didn’t work in their districts, which they usually do.

Gee, if Obama really truly cared, the money the taxpayers would have to put out for his luxury grouch session and golf games would better suited to develop employment opportunities. But the government does not build anything but bureaucratic messes that require more government largess to achieve what is believed to be a fix but is more mess.

Obama is stuck on stupid. Everything else is everyone’s fault, there is no sense of accountability or responsibility for our exalted Vacationer in Chief.

Unemployment Insurance which was developed by Germany, as the reparations of WWI caused for Germany to be weighted down by debt. The world wide economic crash of 1929 brought in a new era in Germany filled by a vaccuum of economic growth and development. Fascism filled the vaccuum and lo and behold the world went through a disaster worse than WWI. History is repeating itself - fascism will be lead by the Muslim nations and its fearless dictator will be Barack Hussein Obama.

Plan destroy America and the economy and fascism will be the answer that the disillusioned seek out as the solution.

So our elected spenders will be coming back to Washington on Monday to vote on extending those benefits. Bet they’ll vote to approve them.

So the Democrats in Congress are still there?

Extend unemployment? Seems like a darn good idea to me, all I need is a job where I can serve enough time to be considered a ‘permanent” employee, get laid off ASAP and collect my checks. WOW, what a country!

As far as odumbo goes, I hope his plane gets lost on the way back to the mainland and winds up in China some place. North Korea would be good too.

I am certain Obama is insane. Each day he proves my thesis, with an even more asinine statement/action than the day before, that I could never imagine any President saying or doing.

Technically, Obama’s “home” is Chicago. However, even though he owns a mansion there, it’s obvious that the climate doesn’t agree with the poor baby and besides the golf courses probably aren’t as good and aren’t playable at all in the winter...so why not choose Hawaii as his home. After all, the people who covered up his birth certificate are there, and home is where the heart is, right?

“in a bodybag” Hopefully not, he would be a martyr then. I was thinking the court would have to tell the military to remove him, like they had to do with that pseudo Obama in some Caribbean nation a few years ago who refused to be term limited out. BTW, note his excellency supported the guy running again albeit it was against the nations constitution there.

The stupider you are the more arrogant and condescending you are and you think you are a genius...at least in Obama's case. This parasite has been coasting due to a compliant media establishment. This is why he shoots off his mouth.

Vacation? I haven’t had a vacation (i.e., where I actually went somewhere and did something outside my normal chores and routine) since June, 2011.

My “vacation” days are spent taking care of medical issues for my wife, working on the house, or remedying the damage of winter.

Some fun.

As I’ve mentioned here before that, one, sometimes two days a week I volunteer as a triage interviewer for a local food/clothing/etc bank.

Q: Are you working?
A No, I’m on unemployment.

Q: Are you looking for a job?
A No, I’m on unemployment.

Q: And when unemployment runs out?
A1: Obama won’t let that happen (mostly from Holder’s people).
A2: I’m hoping that won’t happen.
A3: I’m applying for SSI.

No doubt some of these folks are making a concerted effort to find a job. But anyone who’s been looking for 1.5 years and still doesn’t have a job isn’t trying very hard.

No Barry, you’ve been extending “long term unemployment” with your economic policies since you came into the White House.
