Please don't pretend the press would have been fine with Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan taking an entourage of people to Spain during "the worst recession since the Great Depression" or spending 24 days in Hawaii while 90 million people were out of work.

Remember how Republican Presidents have to be so concerned with "optics"? But of course he media would NEVER do a side-by-side photo of Michelle on vacation and a homeless family. That's reserved for Republicans.
