MSNBC President Phil Griffin says he "deeply regrets" the tweet that was sent out by his network - "Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/biracial family." The employee who sent the tweet has been fired.
Earlier, this account tweeted an offensive line about the new Cheerios ad. We deeply regret it. It does not reflect the position of msnbc.

At first, I was going to say that the best thing he could do was pull the plug on the whole damn network. But, I am not for censorship. I now think that they must stay around. They are the clearest window to the liberal soul.
And Reince Preibus showed up the next day to call for a boycott.
Day late and a dollar short again.
Yup. After pulling the tweet and apologizing liberals went ballistic and exposed even more rabid leftist racism.
Have they fired Melissa-Harris Perry for mocking Romney’s black grandson?
Dog & pony show. This clown was just cannon fodder in the liberal attack game.
If Mr. Griffin wants to impress me with an apology, he can go slit his throat.
The fact that Comcast has not done a major cleaning and fumigation of MSNBC is most telling. And does MicroSoft have a say in the fine company?
The un-named, un-identified, employee has been fired. This can’t be verified, but you can trust MSNBC! /sarc
So they’re trying to tell us that this isn’t the prevailing opinion of the network as a whole?
MSNBC must have received some huge blow-back, including from the RNC, over this slanderous tweet. That they not only offered a decent apology from the network president but fired the offending employee is a sign that this kind of slanderous lie from the left is getting old for most Americans not already drunk on the communist Kool Aid. Perhaps Comcast is sick of losing money with the network and has let it be known that slanderous statements aimed at the political right are no longer O.K. We’ll soon find out.
“Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked have been sacked.”
it was a BS appology of the
“sorry YOU were offended” strain.
IOW a non-appology appology.
I laud MSNBC for firing the offender, but the larger issue is that there is now an established pattern at MSNBC that has breached the public. The pattern demonstrates the systemic culture at MSNBC which is ugly and hate filled. It is now clear that MSNBC is staffed with people who are on the fringe of society.
Phil Griffin underestimates how many haters he has on staff...
No name provided. MSNBC must have fired Pat Magroin.
Interesting. This is part of the same media cabal that is pinning the entire GW Bridge fiasco on Gov. Christie because - they claim - he has allowed a certain attitude to prevail in his office.
The lowly MSNBC tweeter story is the same exact thing. The twit was taking his/her signals from the top.
