Former Army Gen. David Petraeus , who has traditionally stayed away from political endorsements, appears to be eager to support a Hillary Clinton candidacy, a new book alleges.
Shed make a tremendous President, the former commander and CIA director reportedly says in the new book HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton, by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.
Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times, Petraeus adds.
The comments mark an interesting departure for Petraeus, who, when it comes to politics, has typically remained quiet.
The book, to be released Tuesday, alleges that the unlikely pair forged a friendship while Clinton was Secretary of State.
According to excerpts of HRC, obtained by ABC News, Clinton, soon after taking office, invited Petraeus to her Washington home to drink wine and discuss Middle East issues. The night was so enjoyable that she invited him over again the next night to continue their chat.
Betrayus is at it again.
Remotely-Piloted Retired General.
Delivering Political Ordnance on Command.
You ask “What position was he promised?
How about “Chief Butt Boy”.
Petraeus is a kook who went over to the other side. Probably from watching too much Star Wars. He’s got the hots now for Slick Willie’s wife. But hey! She’s responsible for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. What’s not for a liberal ex-general to love?
...as opposed to her liberal supervisor in the Watergate hearings who said she was an ethically deficient liar and not fit for rehire for any position.
See was power can buy you? Simpering ex-Generals among other things.
What has Betrayus been promised.
And you’d make a tremendous sect’y of defense, right general?
Early Onset Senile Dementia. Period.
Yet another reason to loathe this man. Makes one wonder what happens to these people. Do they get taken to some secret facility for some type of mind alteration or does he just have some really weird, kinky stuff on his computer that they’re blackmailing him with?
Hillary was right when she called him “General Be-tray-us.” He’s now betraying U.S. Obviously, the Clintons have the NSA info.
The ability to stay out of Leavenworth.
I thought the same at one time.
What a disappointment.
He could hang out with her sexual predator husband and ask for pointers on how not to get caught in an adulterous affair.
Gen Stupid Clown is a worthless POS.
Beating the tar out of our current SecDef & Hillary & Betrayus isn’t a high standard. I’m sure 2ndDivisionVet could clear that hurdle effortlessly.
Most patriots could...
Petraeus ignores the fed’s limited powers of the Constitution which he swore to protect and defend.
He supports her. That settles it! Harry Belafonte $hit on Colin Powell’s face years ago. General Powell liked it.
I had to look to see if this was a Semmens piece....
David Petraeus is following in Wesley Clark’s foot steps.
I have more high-level military and intelligence experience than Mr. Obama, but many could say that. As a buck private, I wrote the DMZ Report that went straight to the desk of the president, secretary of defense and on down in the Pentagon.
Sounds like the IRS has more on him than just the girlfriend story.
The depths to which this loser is capable of never cease to amaze me.
I have been telling everyone this guy was a Dem for ten years. I understood that was the case when he was at Ft Campbell and became the media favorite going into DS.
Another idiot on the loose.
It sounds like da boy has his eye on the VP slot.
My cynicism just can’t keep up with the speed of betrayal in DC.
Wow, what does this regime have on Petraeus? Must be pretty damning.
Had yer fingers crossed, ehh Dave ? !
Yet another reason why I wait wait wait before I jump on the bandwagon of folks who come out of nowhere, and do something we like.
Remember that lady from Texas last week? She was lamenting the idiotic way Obama is impacting the nation’s health care and health care providers. Some folks wanted to run her for office immediately on that alone.
We really need to tighten up our standards.
We also need to be very honest with ourselves regarding policy, when it’s someone we like too.
If it’s bad when one guy does it, guess what? It’s also bad when our own person wants to do it.
No chance unless they are promoting semi-virs to be general officers these days.
He only said this to protect the few remaining general officers and senior 0-5/0-6s to rebuild the Army and military after Obama; should he fail to say such things, they would be sacked and untold lies unleashed upon the innocent to serve the political purposes of the socialists hell bent on communism.
I’m afraid Petraeus speaks for the American people even though he shouldn’t.
Of course they do. He was already compromised by that sexual affair, the kind of thing that gets many people courtmartialed. It is possible that the affair is the smallest piece of information they have on him. Maybe his NSA file has some tantalizing stuff in it.
Her cankles are sure tremendous.
Boy they really got to old General Betrayus but good.
Before anyone speaks of President Hillary I want to know what really happened at Bengahzi—who is to blame! She must tell us the truth behind the cover up and unmask who was at fault and why!
What does that cheating, lying, buzzhead know?
SecDef at the very least. Probably VP.
She belongs in prison (they both do) for what she did and didn't do and she knows it.
I think I am going to be ill...
Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times, Petraeus tells Allen and Parnes. In the wake of the Benghazi attacks, for example, she was extraordinarily resolute, determined, and controlled.
from another article:
“Clintons courtship of her erstwhile foe began shortly after President-elect Obama nominated her as Secretary of State in 2008. She invited Petraeus, then the militarys top commander for the Middle East, to her home in Washington, D.C., to share a bottle of wine and talk about the Middle East.
Allen and Parnes write that the session went so well, she invited him back for another meeting the following night, and another bottle of wine.”
“Wow, what does this regime have on Petraeus? Must be pretty damning.’
Ding-ding, you get the prize.
See my posts 47 and 48, quoting from another article, he visited Hillary two days in a row...
