Crazy video shows a fight that broke out between a bus driver and a passenger while the bus was in motion.
It happened on a Wisconsin city bus in January, after a passenger started a fight with the bus driver. The driver, Scotty Wells, has since been fired for leaving the wheel.
The surveillance video shows Wells confronting a 17-year-old high school student boarding the bus. In the police report, Wells claimed he had asked for the boy’s information after allegedly having problems with him on previous rides, including vulgar language.

Yep. I hate to side with the union but they got this one right.
He should have quit once the kid was decked, imho.
The “good news” is, that the union’s got this guy’s back.

There should be some penalty for proceeding with the brawl while the bus was moving. Maybe a 12 month probationary period or something. I hope the driver gets the job back, after passing a refresher driving course. He is tough enough for that kind of job. You don’t want somebody too easily intimidated. The boy has been needing a good ass kicking anyway.
What if the black yout had a knife, and I wouldn’t be surprised, I read the news EVERY day.

How about that, it’s Trayvon all over again. How dare this driver defend himself against this direct threat to his life, he must be racist.
Isn’t it amazing how many people forget or don’t know how easily a person can be killed simply by being punched? One punch to the head can be all it takes and there are plenty of examples. This is a direct threat to his life and he has one of 2 choices: 1. Take the risk that he won’t be killed. 2. Don’t take the risk and defend himself. By firing him from his job what they are saying is he should have risked his life. Is that part of the job description?
We had respect for our bus drivers when I was a kid.
Here in New York city it’s a felony to hit a bus driver and no way in hell do they get fired whether or not the bus is moving simply for the fact that bus drivers have been killed in the past by passengers. One got stabbed to death a few years ago by a punk just like this kid.

Oh really? So the possibility that the kid could have a knife and stab the bus driver in the neck once he sits down should be completely ignored?

All of our bus drivers were females. However we didn’t have contracted bus services and our drivers were all local people from our rural community and we respected them year round.
Didn't work.
My female bus driver back in high school would have beaten this little feral puke to an inch of his life WHILE the bus was doing 50 mph down the road.
Nobody EVER messed with Bertha....

Used to be a motorcycle mechanic(1970s). Not much winter work so I drove a school bus for a highly rated big buck school district.
Lots of snotty well to do kids. Most were easy to control. One day a HS junior or senior decided to try to get me into a fight. Posturing, language and verbal abuse. There was quite a little snow storm outside. I was pretty far from any houses. I stopped the bus stood up opened the door and growled while looking through this kid. “Now GET OUT, And don’t come back until you bring a note from the assistant principle that you have been disciplined and are now allowed back on the bus.”
Didn’t hear from him for At least two weeks when he handed me a crudely written note preported to be from the asst principle and a smile and an apology. I knew it was phoney but I also new the kid was no longer a threat.
If I had kids, I’d want this guy to be their bus driver.......
Mr. Patton would have mashed us into paste for s*** like that.
