Donít Celebrate Eric Holderís Pending Departure
PJ Media ^ | February 12th, 2014 - 4:55 am | J. Christian Adams

Nobody should celebrate the announcement that Attorney General Eric Holder will be leaving the administration this year. Whoever replaces Holder will be just as radical and ideological. What the replacement will enjoy, however, is a clean slate. Some will naively assume a new attorney general means a fresh start and an attorney general better than Holder.

Don’t fool yourself. The best thing that could happen for President Obama is for Holder to go and be replaced by someone just like him. He’ll get the good without the bad.

Holder’s replacement will be just as radical as Holder. We’ve seen it over and over. Replace the radical and lawless Hilda Solis at Labor with the even more radical and lawless Tom Perez. Replace Leon Panetta with the certifiable Chuck Hagel. …

Just hope that Ginzberg lasts until 2017! Or at least until the first of next year provided that the RINOs retake the Senate and change the rules back. “Justice Holder” would be the final nail in our country’s coffin.

It just makes covering Holder’s (and associated unindicted co-conspirators’) back trail easier and less traceable back to Holder and minions.

I'll be dancing a jig if he really is retiring. I couldn't stand that bastard even back when he was Reno's deputy.

There's only a couple of people that could be worse. Jamie Gorelick would be worse. Seth Waxman would be just as bad. Both of them were also Reno proteges, like Holder.

I might get zotted for this, but I say just track Holder’s whereabouts; whether he leaves or not—whether he is replaced by an entity worse than he is...track his whereabouts.

"Holder is visiting Sweden as part of a European trip to attend a G6 ministerial conference in Poland. Professorsblogg claims the main reason for his visit to Stockholm is to discuss the case of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, with his Swedish counterpart Beatrice Ask.

Assange, who has been holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for the past 18 months, is wanted in Sweden on allegations of sexual assault. Assange has claimed that is a front to allow him to be extradited to the United States to face charges for releasing thousands of classified documents.

According to Professorsblogg, Holder may be hoping to receive assurances from Swedish authorities that they will follow any such U.S. extradition request, as the Scandinavian country has always done in the past.

Assange went on TV last month to attack President Barack Obama, after the president had announced plans to reform the U.S. government's surveillance programs. "It is embarrassing for a head of state to go on like that for 45 minutes and say almost nothing," he said during an interview with CNN. "

Republicans will probably just appoint him as special prosecutor in their case for the impeachment of Obama.

Depressing piece, but I’m sure J. Christian Adams paints an accurate portrait of the rabid leftist partisans at the DOJ. He had to work with those people.

He’s collecting pardon bids a la Marc Rich.... that’s a historically important part of a lame duck leaving.

Exactly. Even political ninnies know Holder's in danger of being impeached. The likely successor is Chuck Schumer's protege, hatchet man Preet Bharara, who as Charles Hurt puts it is "the snapping jaws of Attorney General Eric H. Holder's junkyard attack dog and the velvet fixer of President Obama's thorniest political problems."

He'll be given a "honeymoon" period by Republicans and media to do his worst. As the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, he's "always ready to swing the ax for the administration," as Hurt puts it. Be careful what you wish for!

I thought Preet was hated by Indians over that young female Indian diplomat that was recently arrested and cavity-searched in NY.

That was my point. I forgot the <sarcasm> tag.

Preet, in his effort to preen his prosecutorial prowess, only succeeded in embarrassing the Obama Regime on the international stage. Not that that's hard to do.

Thank you SO much for posting this. I got some crap for saying the same thing. This is NOT good news. Whoever comes after is going to be MUCH worse as there is no consideration for filibuster as it does not exist.

Holder is not the main problem. Multitudes of citizens who don’t understand the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers are the main problem.

“Don’t Celebrate Eric Holder’s Pending Departure”

Well perhaps we need not celebrate just yet. Holder still has a long time to do more major damage to this country and it's citizens. He needs to be literally yanked from behind his desk and put into prison for his dastardly deeds of the past, right along with odumbo and the rest of his ilk..

You know that is he bucket of ice water that everyone should be concerned about...

Becoming an associate justice of the Supreme Court would give Holder plenty of cover for ALL the malfeasance committed by him at his current job...

I have to go back but has ANY presiding justice of the Supreme Court ever been approached or had any rumblings of impeachment or criminal charges filed against them???
