Women:Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places? Will the War on Women meme work again?
The Aspen Times (CO) ^ | February 13, 2014 | Melanie Sturm

“Life’s greatest happiness,” Victor Hugo wrote, “is to be convinced we are loved.” As most experienced couples know, love-induced happiness is a year-round triumph, not the outcome of a singular, mass-marketed Valentine’s celebration — the one Jay Leno calls “Extortion Day.”

But men ignore this expectation-filled Hallmark holiday at their peril, which is why it’s become a $16 billion industry. More than heart-shaped bling, women savor attention — a lesson noted by politicians.

Just as women beware of transient Romeos, they must Think Again about politicians who whisper sweet nothings into their ears, over-promising before an election and under-delivering after winning their commitment.

A frequent refrain of President Barack Obama — asserted as earnestly as “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” — is the claim repeated in his State of the Union address that women “make 77 cents for every dollar a man earns.” Promising to close the “embarrassing” gap he declared, “Women deserve equal pay for equal work.”

While discrimination can’t be ruled out, should it be the default explanation? Are whites the victims of discrimination because they earn less than Asians? If women do the same work for less, why would anyone hire a man?

Playing honest broker and mindful of research studies, feminist Hanna Rosin wrote in Slate magazine, “I’ve heard the line enough times that I feel the need to set the record straight: It’s not true.”

LOL. I've never thought of that response to the myth.

Women vote based on fear.

Men vote based on freedom.

If the Republican party wants to attract more womens votes it needs to do something to address womens fears. It must make them FEAR another Democratic administration more than it fears losing their federal government sugar daddy.

Mainly liberalism is silly nonsense that conservatives refuse to label as such. The left should thank god for their pet conservatives.

It's funny how nobody mentions this little inconvenient item. LOL.

How can the party that fights for the right to abort female babies not be the one at “war with women?”

Women vote based on consensus.

As a consensus develops, others glom on.

Then there is the Oil of Olay effect. A good pitchman can sell them anything

My wife and I don’t celebrate valentines day or birthdays. We celebrate our marriage every single day.

Two days ago we both fell asleap playing the movie game. It’s where one takes a line (or sometimes a single word) out of a movie and the other guesses what movie it’s from.

We both just fell asleep between questions (we were in bed and it was after nine...). I feel totally loved by my wife and she feels the same. It’s like nothing else and is empowering beyond anything I imagined before I met her 18 years ago.

I wonder if many women hook up with the Dems because the like being treated badly.

I mean think about it how many girls did you know growing that hooked up the dumbest, meanest guy they could find.

Conservative thinking women excluded of course...

So your wife's been asleep for two days? What'd you put in her drink? Seems like you might have unfulfilled ego issues and a deep need for bragging rights. Too bad your marriage doesn't quench these thirsts as well. Since you also are speaking for your spouse would be interested to hear her side of the story. When she wakes up. Maybe she sleeps so much because you are an incredibly egotistical bore.

Women vote based on consensus.

Women vote more on the basis of race and ethnicity. Obama won the black women's vote 96% to 3%. He won the Latina vote 76% to 23% and other (including Asian) 66% to 31%.

Romney won the white women's vote 56% to 42%. Romney also won the married women's vote 53% to 46%. Obama won the single woman's vote 67% to 31% and the single male vote 56% to 40%.

The War on Women stratagem seems to only work on certain segments of women. Gender doesn't appear to play as big a role as race, ethnicity, and marital status.

If 18-year old women were required to register for Selective Service, similar to males, then perhaps they would be interested in more political issues than abortion and equal pay. It is a very self-centered interest in which the vote is applied. If the Dems nominate a female, the GOP candidate should ask the Dem nominee pure and simple: Will you require females to register for selective service? If the answer is no, the person is a hypocrite. if the answer is yes, then perhaps women will have second thoughts about the 2016 vote. Do they really want Hillary Clinton telling them “You need to be aware of a potential
military draft.”

Machiavelli called it the rule of the pack. It occures in bad societies which power positions seem to always attract.

The leader is not followed, he simply pushes back the pack to other avenues than devouring it.

Thus if immune amongst unarmed hyenas, treat them like crap, push them away as whores against other men with money, like a Lion, gaining their attention and maintaining their attention while immune.

If weak, act as a fox, and persuade them via political tricks, fears and hate of others... gaining their attention and leadership in a different way, using them as your human shield... like when Democrats send women to their death in combat and claim they are empowered that way, completely brainwashing them in invulnerability feelings.

Sun Tzu varied by saying, if rich, act poor.

Dang. You nailed it! ;-)

What was funny was I was thinking that at work the next day and when I got home she said she had been thinking about the same thing. We both noticed it. It is an odd relational peace.

I know you were only kidding, but this is a big deal to me because before I met her in 1997 I was married for 20 years to a person that was never satisfied with who I was, and was physically a “cold fish” during the entire relationship (in hindsight, it is just all she knew). I continued to try and believed that no matter what happened, after I died, Jesus would say “well done, good and faithful servant. You did your best”. And that is what happened, though it was ended by her going for the “no fault divorce” - with three teenaged daughters.

Because I know from personal experience (and the testimony of others) what many American men (and women) put up with in marriages, and honestly had no inkling of how good it could be, I am amazed to this day by the “chick film like” relationship my wife and I have. I thought that sort of stuff was “science fiction for women”, but it really does happen in the real world. I’m experiencing it - and it only gets better with every passing month.

And by posting this, in a subtle but real way I am raising the bar. I wish I had read something like this before I married my first wife.
