To be all “correcty” here - Paul Revere (and 2 others) rode through with the call of “The Regulars are out”.

Then Everyone in the Colonies were British, but divided in their Loyalties.
Should they obey General Gage’s commands and surrender to the Chains of Slavery or should they remain on their Feet...?

Hard choices then and now -

(Disclaimer: Information from “Paul Revere’s Ride” : David Hackett Fischer - any spelling/grammatical errors - all mine...)

NoNAIS quoted Paul Revere: “The Regulars are out”.

Yes. This was the Regular Army of their own government attempting to coerce Boston into paying for damages, including for some tea for which the taxes were never paid. The battles at Lexington and Concord resulted from government soldiers attempting to disarm the populace surrounding Boston.

It didn't work out well for the Army because the people were armed and willing to fight.
