How would this regulation affect the switch from diesel to natural gas?
Can big rigs be made out of plastic like cars to get this accomplished? LOL
It would seem that the trucking companies had the best incentive to demand efficiency, assuming that we’re talking about efficiency (not wasting resources including dollars).
Does this mean that trucks will be even slower and more dangerous on upgrades?
If the big trucks lack the power to go up hills, Obama can hire shovel-ready gangs to push them. No pushee, no foodstamps!
In between rounds of golf, yes he is.
Yep, he’s already doing his best and it’s going to get worse.
“...which should pay off in lower prices for consumers.”
He’s SO IGNORANT. Or willfully EVIL. Need better gas mileage to comply with His Highness? Only fill your truck 1/2 full of consumer goods and make TWO trips!
*Facepalm*
I WAS enjoying a nice lunch break, Jaz, LOL!
Kind of idiotic. It’s not like the makers of these trucks don’t already have enormous financial incentive to make their vehicles more efficient. Much more so than passenger vehicles.
I’m sure the guys at Mack are relieved. It had never crossed their minds that making their trucks more fuel-efficient would be a good idea.
No-balls Boner - CUT THE FUNDING.
of course you won’t no balls. you like what’s going on. you like saying you can’t do anything about it.
BS!!!! Approve the Keystone you jacka$$!!!
How would this regulation affect the switch from diesel to natural gas?
The switch sounds good except that as soon as many have done it they will tax it out of existence like coal.
Perhaps he should learn to run a lemonade stand before he destroys the trucking industry. What a maroon.
Pray America wakes up
So the imperial joker decrees and the price of all transported goods goes UP. Thanks again doooooshbag.
Sure would be simpler if he’d just decree the tides to stay out.
I was just talking to someone who explained that a mile per gallon was the difference between making money and losing money. If they can squeeze another MPG out of that truck they’ll do it without Obama telling them to do it.
This guy is about as screwed up as FDR. Worse, as an FDR wanna-be, he’s chocking our country to death.
Most big-rigs get what...4-6 MPG. I don’t think that you can do much better than that even as a turbo-diesel. It takes W joules to move X weight, Y distance, at Z speed.
This will force most independents out of business and into the......Teamsters Union as commercial drivers working for somebody else?
I honestly don’t know other than another $200 million in tax credits going to switching over.
