The European Union voted on Thursday to impose sanctions against those held responsible for the violence in Ukraine.
The sanctions, unanimously approved by EU foreign ministers at an emergency meeting, include a travel ban to the 28-nation bloc and the freezing of assets held in EU countries.
The sanctions will target “those responsible for human rights violations, violence and use of excessive force” in Ukraine, the EU said in a statement.
It said the bloc will soon establish a list of those who will be affected by the sanctions. …

When they succeed they’ll expect Americans to die for them again.
Which side started the violence?
Does it bother anyone that huge, leftist entities like the EU are beginning to exert extra-territorial jurisdiction? The EU is quite selective on who gets sanctioned. Why not Venezuelan officials? Or Chinese? Or Muslim? What’s next — sanctioning those who oppose Global warming junk science?
But of course.
As for that last one, they’ve been trying to do that for quite some time. They are strict AGW doctrinarians, so long as it does not apply to them personally.
The EU is extra-territorial by definition. Too many people brushed it off when Jose Manuel Barroso (EU Commission president) called the EU an “empire”; well, now it’s an in-your-face empire, and an old empire in new guise at that.
This is kind of like watching Muslims fight - I do not have a side to pull for. One other thing - FU EU would make a good bumper sticker.
