Harold Ramis was one of Hollywood’s most successful comedy filmmakers when he moved his family from Los Angeles back to the Chicago area in 1996. His career was still thriving, with "Groundhog Day" acquiring almost instant classic status upon its 1993 release and 1984's "Ghostbusters" ranking among the highest-grossing comedies of all time, but the writer-director wanted to return to the city where he’d launched his career as a Second City performer.

"There's a pride in what I do that other people share because I'm local, which in L.A. is meaningless; no one's local," Ramis said upon the launch of the first movie he directed after his move, the 1999 mobster-in-therapy comedy "Analyze This," another hit. "It's a good thing. I feel like I represent the city in a certain way."

He was a funny guy. It sure seems like he was the dusty motorcycle rider in the movie 1941, who delivers the message from Barstow from madman Maddox. Belushi (Wild Bill Kelso) steals his bike later in the movie. He goes into the theater to watch Dumbo and shakes dust off looking for his wallet to buy a ticket.

The man was married twice to women and has a bunch of children. It has nothing to do with politcal correctness when someone posts a nasty rumor on a memorial thread because they are too lazy to google "harold ramis" and read about his life and/or his disease, which was disclosed by his WIFE.

There is a wide range of diseases that are classified as autoimmune disorders. His was vasculitis, and inflammation of the blood vessels having nothing whatsoever to do with any STDs. Other common autoimmune diseases most Americans have in their families are thyroid trouble, lupus, arthritis, and many others.
