There’s been injustice on both sides. Life on the shtetl was so great either. Somewhere, the pogroms, the bloodletting and the persecutions need to stop. Ukraine, I think, is more complicated. It’s hard to know who the good guys and the bad guys are if there are any.

and the Ukranians evicted the Poles and moved into western Ukraine.

My mother's parents came to the US in 1905 from near Lvov. They were devout Russian Orthodox and did not feel safe because of Poles taking over. When they came here, they settled in CT and there are records from their Church that the Czar sent money to help them found and sustain that church.

Has the Ukraine ever had peace and prosperity for long?
