...when a woman’s estranged husband showed up at her home with her live in boyfriend.

***
Yeah, that one threw me for a moment, as well. Made it seem that the two men converged on the woman’s home together.

I bought my son a Cold Steel Army saber when he was commissioned. I really like it and think I may get one for myself.

If I had to guess, I bet the dog had a tick disease and it affected him neurologically.

He was nuts.

He even attacked the Bluetick bitch who lived with him, one day.

I had to go in and pull him off of her.

Ripped her ear leather something awful.

And yeah, replica swords are a joke.

Repros are better, if you have to have something “like that”.

:)

Most of my swords functionally decorative.

The one I would “use”, if I had nothing else handy, was hand made by a former Army Special Forces Master Sergeant friend of ours.
[sadly, now deceased]

He was half Irish and half Nez Perce and a wizard at making weapons.

He also knapped me a really nice mahogany obsidian dagger.

Viciously sharp thing.

Damascus Katana? That’s pretty funny stuff right there.

Enter My house uninvited only if you are a metal collector, cause if you come in you will get hot lead and cold steel!

It`s made of folded and hammer forged steel otherwise known as Damascus steel and in a Katana or full length Japanese Samurai style. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damascus_steel

The Damascus pattern is very fine and some would say why pay extra, about $700, when a good carbon steel version can be had for about $200 but I think the pattern is very elegant and beautiful.

Some guys will pay thru the nose for a Kimber when a more economical .45 in 1911 Gov. will work just fine? That's a personal choice, I for one find the Damascus pattern intriguing and worth the money.

Look up Damascus knifes.

Estranged isn’t divorced.

“Estranged isn’t divorced.”

The ‘husband’ was not living in the house. The boyfriend was.

The woman and boyfriend had an argument and she called her ‘husband’ who came over. After the ordeal, the woman kicked her boyfriend out.

The term "Damascus steel" was folded steel that was made in Europe and distributed out of Damascus.

Steel in Japan was made in the same basic way but was generally folded more times, regardless it can't really be called "Damascus" accurately.

Ugh. He should have told her to call the cops. What a mess people can make of their lives.

Its what passes for Damascus now, I`ll not split hairs (pun). But by any name, I still think its very aesthetically pleasing and didn`t mind paying extra for it.

It's the same thing as calling a Ducati a "rice rocket". It's a evocative description that puts forward the correct idea but is still wildly incorrect.

Japanese sword purists would have a collective nervous breakdown hearing their precious blades being described by the European slang term for pattern welding.

I just find it amusing.

...Eugene ran into the bedroom closet and got his “Legend of Zelda” replica sword.

Ping. How did this one slip past your net?

I think I`d prefer a firearm but if push came to shove, I suppose my Damascus Katana would suffice.

I've been saying for a while that in a close-quarters situation a sword is a -very- effective weapon. Sure, guns are great. But pull a sword in a crowded room and it'll instantly become an UN-crowded room. :-)

It's too bad all he had was the stupid Zelda toy sword. If he actually had to strike anything with it, it would probably come apart in his hands. There are plenty of good serviceable and -real- swords out there, to fit any budget.
