The Senate race that worries Democrats most (The still exempt LA RAT Mary Landrieu)
Washington Post ^ | 3/17/14 | Sean Sullivan

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) has been near the top of the list of the most vulnerable senators facing reelection since day one of the 2014 election cycle. But notable developments in recent weeks suggest her seat is increasingly at risk of falling into Republican hands.

Republican groups have blitzed Landrieu over the airwaves while she has gotten limited cover from Democratic allies; polls show she is locked in a close race against Rep. Bill Cassidy (R); and now, Landrieu is reserving $2.6 million in airtime between April and June, an apparent recognition that the cascade of opposition ads has forced her to consider spending big months before the November election.

The question is whether Landrieu will able to turn the race into a hyper-local campaign -- in the mold of Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.) circa 2012 -- that pivots on Louisiana issues or whether the unpopularity of the Obama administration and the health-care law will weigh her down. Landrieu's very first TV ad touted her legislative effort to allow Americans losing their health-care coverage under Obamacare to stay on their plans, a clear sign she recognized how potent the issue promises to be in the campaign.

May God Bless and Keep you. I am so looking forward to the “GASP”! & “THUD”! that will come from the Dem echo chamber when Landrieu loses! It’s such a sweet thing to think about!

I hope so. I’m not too confident that the good folks of LA will vote a Landrieu out of office. I’ll ride on your faith if that’s o.k.

Mary has a problem. She has thrived by delivering federal dollars to her constituents and to the corrupt government/corporation interests in Louisiana. That arrangement is falling apart, driven by the successes of Governor Jindal and by the failures of Barack Obama. Landrieu sided with Obama and that fact is proving hard for her to deny. Many of her voters decamped to Houston following Hurricane Katrina and the dead voters are finding it increasingly difficult to get to the polls.

Mary is in deep trouble and her machine is not in a position to help her.

"...Mary is in deep trouble and her machine is not in a position to help her....."

All the Republican candidate has to do is remind the voters of Obama's bribe to Landrieu when Obamacare came up for a vote.

If the GOP already has the 6 or more senate gains on Election Day, then miss Mary will lose the runoff by a landslide 3 weeks later. Conversely, if control of the senate hangs in the balance, the rats and msm will move heaven and earth to steal this election.

Chester Trent Lott is also one of her stealth backers; he crushed Woody Jenkins’ attempt to get a fair count in 1997.
