Local Anti-Human Trafficking Law Enforcement Efforts Around Virginia
Virginia Free Citizen ^ | March 18, 2014 | Shelby Mertens and Kate Miller

Data from the Polaris Project and other research studies indicate human trafficking in Virginia primarily takes place in the urban areas of state. Studies suggest northern Virginia, Richmond and the Hampton Roads region experience the most trafficking. The Virginia Free Citizen reached out to local law enforcement officials in these areas to investigate the presence of human trafficking in Virginia and their anti-human trafficking efforts. Last week we reported on Virginia’s statewide efforts. Northern Virginia Human Trafficking Task Force Receives $1 Million Grant to Combat Human Trafficking Detective Bill Woolf, with the Fairfax County Police Department, said human trafficking is an issue in Fairfax County. He added that the trend is predominately sex trafficking, but labor trafficking is also present. “I would say that there are significant instances of human trafficking in the northern Virginia area, enough to necessitate the creation of a anti-human trafficking unit in the (Fairfax) county,” Woolf said.In addition to the anti-human trafficking unit within Fairfax County, the Northern Virginia Human Trafficking Task Force was created in 2004 to collaborate between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as nongovernmental organizations. Members of the task force include the Polaris Project, United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, FBI, Virginia Attorney General’s Office, Department of Homeland Security and the Fairfax County Police Department, as well as other local law enforcement agencies in northern Virginia.

So now that money may be available the task force suddenly gets created?

Human trafficking surrounds anyplace with lots of money and power.

I trust the tasks forces that don't get splashed on the front page to actually be effective.

Not just muslims. Central American gangs keeping women, and probably children, hostage for their brothels. But we can’t enforce immigration laws, which would sort out quite a bit of this, can we? /s

MS-13 Is every where in VA.MARCH 4, 2013 .In a court appearance Friday, March 1, Jonathan Adonay Fuentes, aka “Cheesy” and “Crazy Boy,” 21, of Clinton, Marlyland, was sentenced to 120 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for sex trafficking a juvenile female as part of a prostitution enterprise operated by the violent street gang Mara Salvatrucha Thirteen (MS-13).

Fuentes, an El Salvadoran-born U.S. citizen, pleaded guilty to sex trafficking a child on November 27, 2012.

“As the driver for MS-13, Fuentes transported a young girl to various hotels and apartments—helping the gang exploit her as a child prostitute,” said Neil H. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. “We have a zero-tolerance policy against anyone who makes it possible to profit from the sexual slavery of children.”

“Today’s sentence demonstrates that those who force young girls into prostitution, as well as those who allow it, will pay the price for their actions,” said Valerie Parlave, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. “Along with our law enforcement partners, the FBI will continue to ensure that anyone who commits any form of child exploitation will be pursued and punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

They will dismiss this out of hand and act as if it’s a rare case of criminal activity on the part of the hardest working people ever.Ten years very lite sentence. And does anybody really believe after getting out of prison MS - 13 gang memeber intends to report to probation... He’ll be back in business and forget all about what the law wants him to do.
