Michelle Obama Looks to Ease Mistrust on China Trip

Michelle Obama will look to dispel growing mistrust between the United States and China through a weeklong tour of the Asian power focused deliberately on soft issues, officials said Monday.

Accompanied by her two daughters and mother, the US first lady will head Wednesday on a tour to some of China's most celebrated sites including the Great Wall, the ancient terracotta warrior sculptures of Xian and a panda preserve.

White House officials said that Michelle Obama would not take up the myriad disputes between the two nations but would instead speak about educational exchanges and emphasize US goodwill toward the Chinese people.

"I think it is important to break through that mistrust and the first lady's visit is an opportunity to do that," Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser, told reporters.

The Chinese public's opinion of the United States has significantly worsened from highs when President Barack Obama took office in 2009. Forty percent of Chinese had a favorable opinion of the United States in last year's Pew Research Center survey -- a figure far below that in Western and African nations but still higher than the rate in most of the Islamic world.

Despite all the problems, hardship going on in the world, there are a few very bright spots that the Obama Administration has every right to be proud of, take credit for the diplomatic victories he's worked so diligently to attain.

First, he will be sending Secretary of State Kerry on an global mission of the highest order, considered by the diplomatic community to be fundamental to world affairs.

Secretary Kerry: U.S. To Send Scientists To Discuss Homosexuality With Ugandan President

Free Republic:March 18, 2014:Secretary Kerry: U.S. To Send Scientists To Discuss Homosexuality With Ugandan President

The President been working very hard to resolve what senior diplomats the world over contend may equal the dire situation in the Ukraine with the Uganda anti-homosexuality Crisis. President Obama has been very wise to be sending Secretary of State Kerry to Uganda with Senior Homosexual Scientist Experts to insure the safety and welfare of homosexuals in Uganda that has Obama very concerned.

Secondly, Michelle Obama's special abilities at dispelling mistrust, building confidence and reconciliation, in deploying her uncanny diplomatic skills and expertise will be put to good use on the President's weeklong tour of China focused deliberately on soft issues, officials said Monday.

An administration official who will be accompanying the President on the trip said when it comes to dealing with soft issues no one is more adept and capable than the First Lady.

Why should we distrust the Chinese communists meeting with the USSA communists who hold the mass murdering mao in high esteem and hate US free enterprise? What could go wrong for US citizens?

Nice of the Obamas to provide this comedy relief for the Chinese.

Americans, meanwhile, will have no laughs from the administration until the next inauguration, when the Obamas are finally out and this nightmare comes to an end.

Moochelle may get laughed out of China, which has little more respect for her than Putin has for her husband.

If she has a sudden change of plans it will be a tell.

Remember the round-the-world tour the Clintons took before leaving the White House? They went everywhere. All paid for by the good ole US taxpayers. Now, just imagine where this “lovely” family will go before they leave 1600. Who knows, maybe they’ll stiff the taxpayers for a trip to the ISS. The going rate is around 70 to 80 mil. No worries mate, they aren’t forking over the swag. WE ARE! He may even take the wookie and the girls. Geeesh, just go to China and STAY THERE.

The highly-orchestrated visit is intended to help soften U.S.-China relations. It also includes a number of events with China’s first lady — less than a year after Mrs. Obama missed her visit to the U.S., which some read as a political snub.

There are already some comparison being made to the first lady’s 2010 visit to Spain, which was heavily criticized, CBS News’ Jan Crawford reports. The trip, which some viewed as really a family vacation, cost taxpayers nearly $470,000. White House and Secret Service officials are refusing to say how much the trip will cost.

I suspect the Chinese will treat Mooch-elle with consummate class and correctness and neither she nor her vulgar handlers will ever realize how the Chinese courtesies are dripping with veiled contempt.
