I’ll vote for a less than perfect Republican. I won’t vote for a Pub who hates ordinary conservatives more than he hates his “friends” across the isle.

On the national scene the thing that matters is, will this president have a higher or lower probability of getting this or the next generation of Americans incinerated by nuclear devices?

Obama has actively encouraged the blackmailer state of Iran to develop nuclear weapons. As a result Obama started a nuclear arms race in the middle east. Eventually we’ll suffer for that.

Actually, I’m totally unaware of the Romney/homosexual connection and I am fairly well read. Your post is the first every thing I’ve heard about it. I’m not saying its not there, but if it is how much safer will the children be if they have to wear environmental suits to school because it’s high rad day?

I know lots of “purists” who say they don’t vote because they refuse to give their consent. These people are who have given us Obama. Worse than rats, they opine of how great their theory of not voting and not giving their consent is. Meanwhile those of us who try get stomped every election and it’s getting worse. Hey, at least they still have their “consent”

This is a fantastic audio book. It’s the best explanation of politics and public opinion I’ve ever read. It’s free. I highly recommend it.

"Why bother, they both seem to get you to the same place (totalitarian socialist government) one just gets you there a little slower than the other (and not really all that much slower by the way)."

So you feel Obama or Romney no difference.

I'll take the long gun battle hoping for reinforcements to arrive.

Political science has been brought to a low level, to that of a sporting event. Which side is on offense/defense, which is winning/losing, and how next year’s player draft is shaping up, dominates the discussion.

No debate in decades has dealt with fundamentals, beginning with, “what is the purpose of government?”

As you point out, the purpose of government isn’t to oversee the murder of tens of millions of innocents.

Even at FR, as this thread illustrates, almost all conservatives are lost in the weeds. They need to lift up their heads, take a look around at the big picture, and focus their attention on how to restore our republic.

OK Herm, I’ll give you John McCain, if you’d like.

What’s the boundary if imperfect?

I’m not gay, for example, but I’ll hide a man’s penis in my butt until its safe to oome out again?

That imperfect?

I’m for a strong military and protecting our national interests abroad, as long as the borders are wide open to Mexico?

The purists won.

Obama is our president.

They should be held accountable.

I’m curious as to why you label yourself an Anti-Federalist?

Peace, Elsie,

On what issues WILL you side with the Democrats?

I will vote only for bills which are legal under Article 1, Section 8. All other legislation is unconstitutional and would be a violation of My oath of office.

It’s not a matter of imperfect, but it’s a matter of what we disagree on.

Sorry, Herman, but Life and Self-preservation are non-negotiable to me.

Anyone who doesn’t have his head on straight about those will sell you down the river on EVERYTHING else.

What purists?

Show me one.

I can show you all kinds of folks who accuse others of being purists. Indeed, years ago, when I thought the same as you do now, I railed against folks I once accused of being "purists" for refusing to vote for functional leftist Arnold Schwarzenegger. Those "purists" lost and Arnold won, and proceeded to behave as a functional leftist. I voted for him -- I was a Republican in intention, but in function -- I was a leftist.

Should the Republicans who refused to vote for him be held accountable?

Had Romney won and implemented the same amoral tyranny as Obama, WHO would have "given us" that?

YOU, vpintheak?

REally? I hear for the heads of incumbant republicans just so we can “feel” good. I’ll feel good once we win back the Senate. Then we hold these guys to the fire. If they go back to their liberal kiss @ss ways then they get the shaft.

We’re on the verge of another REagan era here. I don’t know who is going to carry the mantle. All I know is that he better be conservative and clear in his beliefs.

I think once we’ve won back the senate and God willing the presidency, hopefully we’ll see conservative candidates from both parties until the year 2050 and beyond.

"Purists" are as imaginary as "voting against."

But you go on believing in unicorns, blaming them for Romney's loser status, and racing them in order to "win."

nikos said “Then we hold these guys to the fire”.

Really? How? It’s my understanding they can’t be impeached.

Peace, Jacquerie,

I’m curious as to why you label yourself an Anti-Federalist?

To distinguish Myself from modern, progressive Democrats. I believe in limited federal government and State Sovereignty. The early Democrats were Anti-Federalists; they believed in limited federal government and State Sovereignty. They opposed the Constitution, knowing the dangers of too much centralized power. I defend the Constitution, as it is the last limit on centralized federal power and the solution to all our problems in Washington. The early Democrats were honest men with integrity. I aspire to be the same quality of statesman they were.

“So you feel Obama or Romney no difference.”

Nope, there really isn’t any difference between them, they are both socialists. Heck Romney even had his own version of Obamacare in Mass and it worked out about the same as obamacare is working out.
