At the California Republican Party’s convention earlier this month, chairman Jim Brulte announced 2014 would be the year of “pushing the party outside of its comfort zone,” and introduced four candidates vying to take on incumbent Gov. Jerry Brown in November.

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had (by rough estimate) 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

By Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds would be called “mentally unstable.” Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:

In Michigan, he’d be called “The last white guy still living in Detroit.”

In Arizona, he’d be called “an avid gun collector.”

In Arkansas, he’d be called “a novice gun collector.”

In Utah, he’d be called “moderately well prepared,” but they’d probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.”

In Kansas, he’d be “A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend.”

In Montana, he’d be called “The neighborhood ‘Go-To’ guy.”

In Alabama, he’d be called “a likely gubernatorial candidate.”

In Georgia, he’d be called “an eligible bachelor.”

In North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina he would be called “a deer hunting buddy.”

And in Texas he’s just “Bubba, who’s a little short on ammo.”

In SoCal though, it’s still a toss-up as to his political leanings.

An Associated Press article at the time said authorities accused Champ of running over a competitor in the garbage collection business with his truck after an argument, killing him.

That would definately make the next legislative session more lively.

With a resume like that he is a shoo-in for Gov. in that state.

Interesting. Looks like Brown and Donelley are the only ones with name ID at this point, so a Brown vs. Donelley run-off is certainly possible if Donelley plays his cards right.

I find it amusing that the favorite of the liberal media/GOP establishment, uber-RINO Kashkari is essentially polling nothing at this point. (I never heard of him before he announced for Governor either, but once I found out he was the guy in charge of TARP I immediately ruled him out).

You could probably pick a random name out of a phone book like “Wojtowicz” and 2% of voters would select it as their candidate.

“Precisely. Past is prologue...”

Cali voters have a long history of electing abusive Democratic politicians. It is long overdue for Cali voters to demonstrate their commitment to “equality” by electing a Republican who will abuse them in the manner to which they have become accustomed, and which they secretly want sooo much.

Field poll, they are well regarded I believe.

Brown (D) 57%

Donnelly (R) 17%

Laguna Hills Mayor Andrew Blount (R) 3%

Neel Kashkari (RINO) 2%

Still no traction for the RINO Kashkari, running third amongst the Republicans. Haha.

I just hope it stays that way. Bruce Rauner was polling a distance fourth until he poured his ultimately bank account into nonstop propaganda TV commercials and bought off most of the "Tea Party" leaders.

What day is the jungle primary? If Kashkari was honest, he'd be running as a RAT.
