A 24-year-old man, shot dead during an early morning walk in Indianapolis on Tuesday, had been excitedly awaiting the arrival of his first baby.
Nathan Trapuzzano was shot in the stomach during what police believe was an attempted mugging outside a tire shop at 5.50am.
As police intensified their search for two suspects, seen on security camera footage running from the scene, it was revealed that Mr Trapuzzano's wife, Jennifer, is due to have a baby girl next month.
Mr Trapuzzano, a computer programmer for Ivy Tech Community College, was found injured outside the Tron Tire Shop, Fox 59 reported.
Police believe he was shot during a struggle with a would-be mugger, while another man acted as a lookout. He died at hospital a couple of hours later.
The victim had been due to celebrate the birth of a baby girl, who the couple had planned to name Cecelia, and his first wedding anniversary next month.

The security camera footage is so blurry, it could have been an encounter between oversized tumble weeds. I have to wonder why the cameras were even installed, given their inability to show any detail outside of blobby shapes.
They weren’t up then, they were STILL up. Usually between 6-8 am is Safe Time though if the sun is up to get in and out of bad neighborhoods without too much worry, I always did that when I lived outside Detroit. It’s like a shift change for thugs all meeting at the scumbag timeclock.
Good job, married a year with a 8 month pregnant wife, the perfect start to the American Dream and he lost it all to a couple POS for a few bucks to get their next fix.

The only reason I would conside the possibility offowl play is because the time of the day the crime was committed. Ferals usually don’t mug people in the early morning hours unless they are getting more industrious and one has to wonder how much someone would have on them in that part of town while they’re taking a walk. Ferals usually don’t think; they just do.

I have noticed this many times while watching the TV show 48 Hours. The outside cameras just don’t show the detail needed in most cases. The faces are blurry and you cannot read a car license plates.

Yeeah I agree. Why even put up a camera with resolution that horrid? Its probably just a deterrent anyway. An iPhone is at east 100 times better. It kills me that just about every UFO seems to be shot with the same tupe of camera. I live for the day that someone catches one landing and the occupants coming out all in high resolution. And then everyone will probably think its a Hollywood fake...lol
We’ve had a serious run on murders in Indianapolis the last few weeks. The blacks are killing each other but there have been a couple of drug dealing murders (four killed, then three) involving black and white thugs.
The near East/North East and the near West areas of Indianapolis are very dangerous areas. My wife used to teach at 10th and Tibbs, a couple blocks south of there. She would watch drug deals all day happen across the street from School 67.
Decent people need to leave those areas. They are doing no good there. The Hispanics are constantly attacked in that area (which could be why they went after this guy).
And carry a gun! Indiana LTCH is not a difficult process.

My Saturday morning routine has me waking up at 5 am to get to a great bakery that opens at 5:30, fill up my gas tank at Costco, then get a haircut at my local barber who also starts early on Saturday.
There aren’t many people on the streets at 5 am on a weekend, but some of the ones who are out are acting strange. I’m pretty sure they have been up all night using drugs, from Friday night into Saturday morning. I see an odd mix of hard-working people (like the bakery and barber shop owners), and people who are acting like they have mental problems or are on drugs.
I always carry a concealed 5” 1911 and two spare magazines.

Indy is out-of-control this year. Its murder rate is actually higher (by quite a bit) than that of CHICAGO. There were four murders on a single day on the weekend, including a man who was working at a clothing store.
Hate to say it, but I’d give the place a wide berth until the mayor/police department gets a handle on things... if they ever do.
