The only thing dumber than grown men getting paid to play games is grown men getting paid to talk about it.

“He didn’t take 10 days. He took three days and missed two games. So what? Almost no player plays a full 162 anymore.”

Agreed. Total non-story, just Francesa looking to get his name in the papers (it’s no coincidence that he’s making controversial comments right when his simulcast moved from YES to Fox Sports - gotta get a nice ratings boost for his new network).

Also, worth noting that Murphy played 161 games last year. Tough to question his reliability/dedication, which makes this “story” even more stupid.

Wonder what Francesa would have said when Sandy Koufax didn’t pitch Game 1 of the 1965 due to the game falling on Yom Kippur?

Yea - good point, he probably would have been all over it as being traitorous to the team

All those time slots and this is where the guy went off the deep end. Excess bandwidth ensures you will get controversy .. It was his turn.

Maybe MLB Should consider installing birthing rooms at ballparks, for the diehard fans and wives.

just a thought. now all I need is a time slot.

IMHO, anyone who listens to sports talk radio in order to hear the likes of Francesa pontificate needs to get a life.

Way too many scrimmages and games without the helmet’s interior protective padding.

Actually, Murph only missed two games, in the first three days of the season. Another person pointed out, that he only missed one game, last year, so he is not exactly a slacker. Decades from now, Murph will remember the wonderful experience of the first 48 hours of his boy’s life, I doubt he will remember two games vs. The Nationals. Thanks :)
