Greg Brannon says he will win Senate primary outright (NC primary is May 6th!)

U.S. Senate candidate Greg Brannon appeared on Glenn Beck’s radio program Thursday to paint his campaign against House Speaker Thom Tillis as David versus Goliath.

Tillis is holding the advantage against Brannon in recent polls as both lead a field of eight candidates. But in the interview, Brannon said he expects it to change.

“We are pulling back the veil and showing who the wizard is and they are getting exposed,” Brannon said of Tillis, whose conservatism he questioned at multiple points. “We are going to win this without a runoff. There’s no doubt in my mind. The wave is coming.”

Brannon flew to Texas to appear in studio with Beck in the pair’s third interview. Beck, a controversial conservative personality, has declared a “man-crush” on Brannon.

Brannon will also appear on Beck’s TV program this evening, along with his wife, Jody. He is using the appearance to try to raise money for his campaign

In the interview, Brannon addressed the Fort Hood shooting, saying he endorsed allowing members of the military to carry weapons. “Our best and brightest, our ones who are prepared to defend us everywhere ... aren’t armed?” he asked. “That’s ... insane.”

Citing the need for self defense, he added: “Anybody should be armed across this country.”

As for Common Core national education standards, Brannon said the federal government should have no role in education.

“We are pulling back the veil and showing who the wizard is and they are getting exposed,”

This is true. Thom Tillis, the Establishment guy, McConnell and Rove's preferred candidate has former Planned Parenthood staffers and thinks Obamacare is "a great idea!"

If Brannon doesn't win outright on May 6th, the way the polling is, there will be a runoff, and there Brannon will win.

I like Brannon. Frankly, though, I'll be glad to get rid of Hagan.

I heard on the radio the other day that Brannon's not going over 15% support? I checked on RCP, and confirmed it.

Doesn't bode well, if that's the case. But as you suggested, anything can happen.

There are 8 people running. Tillis is only at 18%.

With the top two pretty much tied and six other people in the race, a runoff is likely. Tillis’ moderation has been coming out lately, so if anybody would surge toward election day, it would be Brannon. Tillis’ association with Planned Parenthood, Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell and his saying that Obamacare is a “great idea” haven’t helped him.

Good. Tokyo Rove needs to take losses in this coming election cycle.

“Good. Tokyo Rove needs to take losses in this coming election cycle.”

Rove and his ilk blew their wad in November 2012, and had not a single winner. They wanted to cement the meme that “only moderates are electable.” But none of them got elected, from Romney on down. So their meme is dying and they’re fighting like hell to preserve it. If conservatives win across the country this November, their power is at an end.

I guess you think Brannon will be able to avoid having to repay all that money the jury concluded he had obtained through defrauding investors....
