The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund announced Saturday it has endorsed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) for re-election in the May 20 Kentucky primary.

"Mitch McConnell is a true champion of our Second Amendment rights, leading the fight against President Obama, Harry Reid and Michael Bloomberg's anti-freedom agenda," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund.....

OK, I get it. You don’t understand what poison cockfighting is to people. Throw your money away in Bevin, I don’t give a rat’s patootie. Bevin guaranteed a loss by at least 25 points with that idiotic stunt.

Get mad at me all you want, heck I don’t even care if you call me names, but what I said is a fact. Bevin has allowed himself to be aligned with cockfighting, and that is beyond stupid.

I believe Senator McDaniels voting record on firearms is better than Senator Cochran’s. Senator Cochran voted for joe biden’s massive gun control bill in 1991.

One more reason I cancelled my NRA membership and joined GOA.

How convenient! My NRA membership expires this month. I guess they have made my mind up about renewal for me.

Voting for massive spending is “poison”. Seeking votes from every voter is nothing new.

Decision....cockfighting or big govt Republican...what will affect the country most!

You’re a blooming idiot if you think “big spending” is more poisonous to voters than cockfighting.

1. Bevin is not going to win, so it's a smart move on the NRA's part. Going against the GOP Senate leader, only for him to inevitably win, would be foolish. He'd probably tell NRA lobbyists to get lost after that. 2. Not one sitting U.S. House or U.S. Senate Republican has endorsed Bevin. Not one. Including "brave" favorites like Paul, Cruz and Lee.

They’re the best training opportunity most conservatives will ever get. Parents should send every kid to at least one training and if you’re thinking about college you absolutely must attend.

... The NRA is part of the business as usual political machine in Washington, what more can I say.

So the NRA is either clueless or apathetic about Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers. Is that the reality?

This is why the NRA can kiss my big white butt. They also endorsed that linguini-spined RINO Mike Simpson in ID-2. My membership dollars go to the GOA, and I will find another worthy group, like the JPFO or SAF to get the money I used to send to the NRA.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

The cause of fiscal conservatism does not need to be represented by people who attend cockfighting rallies, release ads saying “I’m not a witch”, etc. That does not further the credibility of the movement.

Your comments are not a refutation of how he will be made out to be a clown for his behavior and only furthers the stereotype that the tea party is full of “kooks” that the media will run with. They can do a good enough job making stuff up that isn’t true - we don’t need to provide them with concrete proof to elevate it all the more.

His conduct has also destroyed his viability to run for other offices in the future, which is really a shame.

"The NRA is part of the business as usual political machine in Washington..."

The NRA will always support the pro-gun incumbent.
They don't care about the debt, homosexual marriage, abortion, homeschool issues, etc.
Their ONLY focus is gun rights.
That's how they stay powerful and relevant - you don't have to like it, it just is.

I must agree with you. Any sort of animal fighting is anathema to most people. Count me among them. It’s barbaric and shows a lack of human decency.

The NRA looks at one thing only; gun rights. This has led to them endorsing some candidates that have been bad on all other issues.

This makes perfect sense if you’re a rabid one-issue voter.

Exactly. I cringe every election seeing some the clowns that receive NRA endorsement.

So for Kentucky voters cockfighting is more “poisonous” than a big spending Republican...that’s idiocy.
