Josh Marshall Brags: The Right Wing Thinks Obamacare's in Trouble,
Newsbusters.org ^ | April 19, 2014 | Tom Johnson

Movement conservatives are on an anti-Obamacare bender and feeling pretty good, but eventually they may pay for it with a painful political hangover.

That, essentially, is what Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall wrote on Friday in an article titled "How the GOP Bet on Failure And Lost." Marshall acknowledged that the Affordable Care Act probably will help Republicans in this year's midterms, but that in the long run, they'll suffer at the polls unless they face the supposed fact that the law is a success.

From Marshall's post [emphasis ours]:

On Obamacare, the Republican party has bet big on failure for four years. Now the results are in. And they lost. Big time.

....I would say it is likely that the GOP will still derive benefits this November from the core of voters who are extremely upset about Obamacare...But on the core of the policy, which I think there is good reason to believe will align with political outcomes in the future, the results are in..

The author pushes Romney and RomneyCARE.

The G.O.P. has already made RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE
the disaster of the century.

Josh Marshall don't let reality hit you in the butt on your way to the Looney bin. Your ideas are hurting good people and now it is personal.

We can only hope that the Dems cannot cheat enough in 2014 to entrench Obamacare.

What causes you to brag about the success of something that leaves zip but destruction in its wake?

On Obamacare, the Republican party has bet big on failure for four years. Now the results are in. And they lost. Big time.

These delusional morons actually think that their opinion is fact, thence news.

It's not.
Reality is what it is.
The Obamacare web site is simply a poor symptom of the monumental failure.

Just make a list of the five most important "goals" of Obamacare.
Then convince me that they've been achieved as promised.

Total failure doesn't begin to describe it.

The next wave of "covered, but not able to find health service" has not yet begun; millions already find themselves without a doctor; without access to a hospital, and unable to afford either the premiums or the deductible.

When it becomes tens of millions, these idiots will have a lot of explaining to do. Besides the tired whine that the GOP "caused" the failure.

Marshall acknowledged that the Affordable Care Act probably will help Republicans in this year's midterms, but that in the long run, they'll suffer at the polls unless they face the supposed fact that the law is a success.

When one talks about success one has to have a measurable goal at the outset with which to compare the outcome. To me this can only be the forecasted results of the ACA which Obama and the Democrats argued for the bill before its passage. Namely more Americans covered by high quality health insurance at a lower cost to the individual and the government.

For the last six months or so the administration and the Democrats in general have been attempting to lower the public’s expectations of ObamaCare I think with little results. Their efforts to promote the bill perhaps were too successful and the reality of the bills results to unsuccessful and to wide spread.

But as a measure of how scared the Democrats are we can see them pull out their usual tools of deception; move the goal post and change the definitions. They have changed the definition of who has signed up for ObamaCare and delayed again and again who must comply with the ACA and when.

And to make sure that ObamaCare meets the measure of success Obama is having the Census Bureau message the census questions to make the results incomparable to past census data. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/16/us/politics/census-survey-revisions-mask-health-law-effects.html

For Democrats success looks like whatever they want success to look like because they can change the measuring stick anytime they want to.
