The Texas Attorney General running for Governor has just sent a letter to the BLM in a parallel land grab along the Red River, where the BLM wants to take 90K acres that have belonged to Texas for 100+ years. The BLM has decided it really belongs to Oklahoma, so they can federalize it.
Taking Texas land - bad idea.
Taking a large chunk along the Red River and apply environmental controls when we’re in the middle of a massive drought - really dumb
If they take it over and start limiting water rights when several downstream towns are going to recycle wastewater for drinking water - people will start breaking out the ammo.
Excellent! Will get right on it.
Thank you, hoosiermama.
Are y'all reading this? Are you sure of what you just read? Read it again. Because something very, very serious just happened. This ain't just some spoiled little pissant shooting his mouth off.
Take note: the sitting leader of the United States Senate has just issued a veiled threat to use federal assets to murder an American citizen.
At this juncture, it no longer matters what this is about, or who is right. People are sick of this overbearing federal government, and the peace of our republic is hanging by a thread.
Reid says "we are a nation of laws," but he is treating American citizens as if he were a dictatorial strongman in a banana republic, not a senator in the supposed "World's Greatest Deliberative Body". For this murderous threat, in felony violation of multiple sections of US Code, Reid should be impeached immediately, and taken away to incarceration by Federal Marshals. But Harry Reid is far too powerful for that. Absolutely nothing will happen to him, while he lives.
Prediction: if Bundy or any member of his family, or any militia member defending him dies by any action of the United States federal government, a wave of retribution will sweep across this land, fanning the flames of conflict into a full-blown hot civil war.
This is not me, a penny-ante blogger, making threats; this is a prediction of cause and effect illuminated by history, in which I am very well read compared to the political class. (Yes, it's a conceit, but I'm in good company; there are millions of Americans just as well versed in history.)
No, this is just what happens under these conditions:
An overbearing government pushes and pushes, and takes and takes.
The citizenry are long-suffering, seeking only to make a living and care for their families. They sit and take it, for years and decades, as long as abuses can be borne.
But finally, at long last, the citizens get fed up of tyranny and abuses of the government, and they rebel. Almost anything can be the final trigger. Doesn't matter if the cause in itself is just, or not. People just finally say, "ENOUGH!"
Once the breaking point is reached, there is bloodshed, on both sides, and bodies start piling up.
And this ain't some little commie hellhole in Central or South America. In our republic, the citizens are armed; there is at least one firearm for every man, woman, and child in America. We won't just let the federal come in and Waco us or Ruby-Ridge us again.
Is this really what you want, Reid? A hot civil war?
The peace of our republic hangs by a thread.
Reid probably does not care about the outcome. Most likely, the elites and/or some foreign government have promised to protect Reid no matter what happens to the proles.
But I care. And I bet you do, too.
