This afternoon Sean Hannity responded to Bundy’s comments on his radio show:

Rancher Cliven Bundy decided to lecture his supporters on slavery and the “negro” on Saturday. Media Matters posted the video:

Dude?

The Washington Post posted his comments:

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

So, Sean, did you just read the text or did you hear how he actually made the statement?

You know, with true compassion for the dependent and down-trodden instead of the fakery that you get from the left?

To be fair, no speech that starts off with “Let me tell you about the Negro” can possibly end well. He’s done.

SO true. He's toast.

The Duck Dynasty guy made similar comments after being prodded to do so.

Frankly, so have some black community leaders but they can get away with it in this politically correct cesspool called the media.

I actually find the comments somewhat refreshing...

actually you’re saying exactly was I was thinking
a bad battle to choose even though my gut reaction was to back the dude
the focus should have been on Harry Reid not on this dude
apparently ranchers have been grazing on fed lands without too much incident until Reid has his pet project.

Hannity had no problem supporting Trent Lott's comments which ultimately resulted in Lott resigning from the Senate in 2002 .........

I've been a listener and supporter of Hannity for a long time but for him to throw Cliven Bundy under the bus at this juncture is beyond the pale.

Hannity has just shown that he truly doesn't have the guts to support the real patriots in this country........

He's just a cheap, middle of the road radio talk show host..............

But hes a deadbeat and may, indeed, be a bigot.

Sounds like the Left's Racism dog whistle is sounding shrilly inside your head.

You should ask yourself what other malware the Left downloaded to your head...

The ones jumping on this against Bundy did not support his argument against the Federal Govt Abuse issue involved in the first place.

Its disgusting to see so=called conservatives supporting the left in attacking a man defending his constitutionally protected rights.

Nothing he said was racist, nor was it wrong, nor does it matter to the issue of Govt abuse.

Yep those were the 7 words that did him in....the rest of what he said actually made a lot of sense.

Those 7 words made it sound like he was lumping all blacks in as the same.

It’s the NYT!!! How do we know it is even an accurate quote? Do they have audio or video? This is the publication that will go to no ends to push propaganda. They’ve been caught photoshopping pictures for Christs Sake. So before everyone cruxifies the man, how about some evidence beyond the discredited NY Times.

you know.. I don't know how to feel about this.

since no one wants to actually have a conversation about the matter.

Something like this is brought up, and immediately people (like Hannity just did) scream racism!!!! ignorance!!!! and the discussion ends..

um.... WHY WHY WHY can't we discuss this? if we are ignorant... PLEASE enlighten us!!!!!!

I am BEGGING anyone who knows the answer to PLEASE enlighten me! I don't want to be ignorant anymore so PLEASE PLEASE help me understand this issue better than I currently do, because I honestly am sort of inclined to agree with Bundy, that in many ways blacks today are worse off than they were.
And if I am wrong, just simply explain why so I can understand.

Didn’t it occur to him that he was handing his enemies the perfect weapon that could be used to destroy whatever credibility he had?

How many times have we seen the professional microphones been thrust into the faces of the inexperienced, grass roots people in order garner comments that would ultimately be used against them?

I've heard Sean run for the tall grass time & time again whenever a caller would venture onto the subject of race.

Many times he wouldn't even let them finish their often innocuous point. Instead of exploring and/or refuting their point he'd quickly terminate the conversation with a note of disgust.

He's a coward afraid to death his show might get the Sandra Fluke treatment.

Either this or he's just a phony who really doesn't believe there's anything wrong with the government's official line on race relations.

One wonders why he didn't lawyer up to keep his land BEFORE all this.

One wonders why you keep trolling the Bundy threads with your pious swill.

Why do you think they threw Sarah Palin in the gladiator pit with Perky Katie "The Cutthroat" Couric?

SO WHAT. THAT DOESN’T CHANGE THE blm/harry reid corruption LAND GRAB ISSUE ONE BIT.CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGAITON OF REID/BLM IS NECESSARY. Read the Constitution and you will see Bundy is in the right. The federal government never ceded the land to Nevada as it was obligated to at staehood. The rest is BS... Plus the SHERIFF is the law enforcement in the state in this case.....not BLM. He shoudl have told/forced the BLM to leave and he shoudl have disarmed them.... THEY AND HARRY ARE THE TERRORISTS...

You'll have to get an alternative point of view from someone else, because as inarticulate as the man may be I'm inclined to agree with him as well.

I do not think its debatable that the state largely has black folks right where they want them, dependent, reliable voters living essentially captive lives.
