An outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes could occur from this weekend through early next week as a potent storm system slowly pushes east across the nation. Locations from the Plains into the Mississippi Valley, Ohio Valley and parts of the South could see severe weather on one or multiple days.

This widespread threat of severe weather begins Saturday in the Plains. If you are in one of regions affected, be sure you have a plan to get the latest weather information multiple times a day. The specific forecasts for each day are below.

I don’t follow national weather much but looks like these storms will impact a large segment of the nation. I am in SC and they are forecasting bad storms here Monday/Tuesday.

Stay safe.

I’ve been lurking on some of the weather forums and the meteorologists there are very worried about Arkansas on Monday. It’s going to be bad.

Well, at least it’s not likely to be as bad as the UK Daily Mail reported:

“The twisters may touch down in the highly populated metro areas of Dallas, Kansas City and Omaha before shifting east towards St Louis, Memphis, Nashville and Baton Rouge, NOAA said.”

I’m guessing the hype is about extreme weather events caused by climate change.

Because, you know, except for every year about this time, this is the worst outbreak of extreme weather EVER! I know ‘cause I saw it on Twitter.

So tornadoes hate populated areas? They hunt them like wolf packs after elk.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SUNDAY AFTERNOON IN
EASTERN OKLAHOMA...LIKELY EAST OF A LINE FROM BARTLESVILLE TO
MCALESTER TO BOSWELL. THE STORMS MAY INITIALLY BE WIDELY SCATTERED
AS THEY INTENSIFY...BUT WILL BECOME MORE NUMEROUS AFTER 5PM AS THE
STORMS MOVE TOWARD WESTERN ARKANSAS. THE STORMS WILL LIKELY REACH
THEIR GREATEST INTENSITY SUNDAY EVENING IN WESTERN ARKANSAS AND FAR

DEVICES AND ENSURE YOUR FAMILY CAN QUICKLY SEEK SHELTER IF
NECESSARY.
