Psychiatrists Are the New Federal Gun Control Agents and Political Thought Police

The Obama administration has a new partner in crime and it is the American Psychiatric Association (APA). The APA created the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (5th Edition) which was recently adopted. DSM 5 is highly controversial and has sparked outrage from the mental health practitioners. As many of these practitioners point out, the new DSM-V makes a pathology out simple and normal behaviors such as grieving for the loss of a loved one.
This constitutes a new subjective approach in diagnosing of mental illness that promises to end free speech and any form of political dissent. The federal government has already declared anyone who oppose its unconstitutional policies as having political paranoia, which is now diagnosed as a type of mental illness.
Psychiatry Targets Internet Conspiracy Theorists
Particularly disturbing is that the new manual targets internet users and conspiracy theorists. If someone is judged, by some vague set of criteria, to spend too much time on the internet, they could be judged to be mentally ill and ineligible to own a gun. How are you receiving this information? The chances are that you are, at least according to Obama and Biden, giving in to your internet addiction and reading this article. Under the new Obama guidelines this would be grounds for gun confiscation. The alternative media is predicated on internet readership and listenership. These groups would be among the first groups to oppose a martial law crackdown, and now they are the first to be targeted.

I commented on this a few months ago when supposed pro-gun rights advocates were going along with mental health checks. How far are we from constitutional conservative views being declared a mental disease?
I have never met a psychologist who didn’t require their heaviest treatment.
I’m presuming that if you declare to the psychiatrist you’re a homosexual then all will be forgiven.
Dentists have the highest suicide rate among medical professionals. Most psychiatrists I’ve known (I was a psych student in college) are leftists, drug addicts, and/or alcoholics. I know there are some well-intentioned ones out there, but due to the governmental reporting requirements both new and old, they have no choice but to report when someone make threats.
This is de rigeur for leftists: attack those who need the most help by pitting them against their rights. I think we’ll see an uptick in violent offenses by the mentally ill who refuse to seek treatment. This country’s health care system is going to go the way of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” You’ll check into a hospital but won’t be allowed to ever leave until a government agent says you may.
Sometimes a conspiracy theory is just a conspiracy.
Remember, folks, you are NOT paranoid if someone is really out to get you.
No doubt that’s coming, and for that reason, I’m glad to be the age I am, (old). Sadly, the youth are walking into this trap quite willingly and without any knowledge of the future consequences and they’re doing it on Facebook. The day of reckoning won’t be pretty.
Most of the Psych majors I spoke with in college were in the field to 'sort out their head', or words to that effect. I only met one who seemed completely sane.
Pretty tough to win in a no-win game.
Went to my 50th HS reunion last year. Enough stuff was planned to remind us of the lives we lived as teenagers and the hopes we had for the future. It's been painful to realize how different today's world is from what it could've and should've been.
Those of us over 65 or so aren't as old in many ways as those who think it's all about playing the game and letting others decide what to think and feel. If there isn't a turn-around before us "old" ones are gone, it will not happen for decades, maybe generations, probably not without catastrophic events in between.
Enough of that....my dog wants to walk me now, and cheer me up. <^..^>
“Taking a page out of Josef Stalin’s book.”
Right:
” I have spent all my life under a Communist regime, and I will tell you that a society without any objective legal scale is a terrible one indeed. But a society with no other scale but the legal one is not quite worthy of man either.”
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
You read correctly. I thought once I needed to see a psychiatrist, but just in time I remembered John Wayne’s advice:
“Out here, pilgrim, a man learns to solve his own problems.”
Dated a woman once who worked for a psychologist. She turned out to be nuttier than a fruitcake. There’s something about those `helping’ professions that do anything but. They turn the old saying about introspection into “The overexamined life may not seem worth living.”
Anyway, the entire medical profession is being transformed into government spies and enforcers. That’s Obamacare.
I have a lot of acquaintances and friends that are psychiatrists and most of them are very liberal. It’s a real problem for Vet’s as they refuse to go to a psychiatrist if there is any chance of losing their gun... Their gun is their security blanket as it often has save their life.
In the Marines they call psychiatrists “Magicians” as they make people disappear!!!
“Most of the Psych majors I spoke with in college were in the field to ‘sort out their head’, or words to that effect. I only met one who seemed completely sane. “
We must have met!!! (Joking that I was the sane one you met!) I agree with you. And among my several degrees is a BA in Psychology. (However I chose to go the neuroscience route after that) I must say that the worst crackpots were the psych professors, most of whom had no grasp on reality. They never worked outside academia.
The psych professors hated me as their power manipulation and intimidation plays did not work on me. I was older than most of them, much more life experience, had been a university professor for many years, and was friends with their bosses,(the Dean of A&S, several university board members and the Pres. of the university) Plus, I’m married to an MD Psychiatrist!

My favorite is Crocodile Dundee’s answer when his girlfriend news reporter asked him what he did.
Dundee replied, “We just tell our secret to Wally, and Wally tells it to everyone! Problem solved!”
Not if we stop using shrinks in place of FAITH and RELIGION!
My dad was a doctor in the Air Force. He always said shrinks were almost always nuttier than their patients.
There’s a fair amount of truth to the old undergrad joke about psych majors. Most stick with it just long enough to figure out what’s wrong with themselves. The ones who graduate majoring in psych never did figure it out.
