NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Larry Johnson has never been one to hold back when he has something on his mind.

He definitely had something on his mind Saturday in the wake of the accusations of racism against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. Johnson took to Twitter and fired off a cryptic tweet that seems to suggest an all-black basketball league with all-black ownership should be formed.

I'm OK with an all-black league.

I have another great idea ... let's call it the National Basketball Association.

Whatever. If it’s better than the NBA, they will make money.

I’ve been around the NBA management. The power behind the NBA is a bunch of little white guys, with glasses. The closest they ever got to basketball was at the scorer stable or the laundry room.

Money runs the NBA. If this guy thinks it’s about the players, he’s crazy.

"Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!"

I was going to ask when Johnson would be fined 2.5 million dollars and be banned for life from the NBA. Never mind. Instead, he should be required to go back to elementary school and start over.

your last sentence is a bit of a non sequitur….the players make most of the money - over 50% of gross revs - so how can you say it’s about money and not players. The two are not divisible.

If this ever comes to be, then whites should not attend any games or watch it on TV or buy any of the merchandise.

I know I never would.

The Clipper players are in for a rude surprise if Sterling doesn’t sell and it ends up for years in litigation, as they will be hurt the most out of this fiasco. Monetarily, and draft-wise. I’m sure most of them aren’t eager to have to move somewhere else and I’m sure most of them don’t want to have to sell their homes. Instead of warm LA, they might end up in cold Chicago, lol.

Plus their salaries somewhere else might be less than what they are being paid now. Plus their wives, if married, aren’t going to like being uprooted, kids having to change schools and lose their friends. All this will happen if the NBA decides to try to punish Sterling by making the players free agents, free to leave for other teams, or making the Sterling franchise lose money and AD sponsors.

Then there is the NAACP. Donald Sterling gave lots of money to the NAACP. He won’t be doing that anymore, IMO. So they will lose lots of bucks from Sterling’s contributions. If Sterling ever did decide to sell the team, he’d make a huge profit, huge. So the only losers here will be the players, their families, and the NAACP. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know.

Since America is run by “empowered” women or at least in their name I’m sure the campaign to start rumors about Putin will work to make him subordinate to the popular girls’ will and dictats.

LOL, Yep, But they’re not racists... Nope, can’t happen because we is black.

I foresee the end of the NBA; remember when Baseball was THE American game and then they went out on strike and the entire season was lost. I do not believe they have ever regained the fan base they once had.

The NBA is on the fast track to that same fate.

There are no more American white players in the NBA who don’t ride pine and play niche roles. All the best “white” players are now from overseas. Therefore, the creation of the All-Black NBA is anti-immigrant.

NFL and NBA could both be in trouble down the line. They may have experienced their zenith. My sports fan Grandpa was finished with pro sports in the mid 1980s. High priced cry babies from the owners on down. I am now like my grandpa, with no interest in the on going soap operas. Underpaid cheerleaders who voluntarily try out, concussion problems for men who voluntarily agree to play when young and then get paid to as pros. Owners sapping taxpayers for money to build stadiums or bolting for the next town. Players by and large being broke soon after their playing days are over. I have seen enough.

the working man has nailed it. I’m in total agreement. Most of these so called athletes have been pampered their whole lives because they can play a sport. The best brain surgeons in the world don’t make the money those fools do for playing a sport. I too have boycotted them for some time and have no interest in watching any of the games.
