NEW YORK DAILY NEWS / ^ | Thursday, May 1, 2014 | Sasha Goldstein

John David Ladue, 17, had made several pressure-cooker bombs and bought an assault rifle and several other guns as he prepared to wreak terror on his Waseca classmates, authorities say. The teen was obsessed with other school shooters and kept a 180-page notebook with critiques of those massacres — and plans for his own.

Busy little bee. Where were his parents while all this was going on?

A 17 year old can NOT buy an “assault rifle”.

Not legally anyway.

And now he’s famous, just like all the others. Mission accomplished.

I’m sure 0 has his MSM minions scouring the headlines daily to oversensationalize and nationalize any incidents with guns and children they can find. They may even provide assistance to potential mass murderers if they get wind of it. Need an assault rifle or hand grenades? Underage? Felon? No problem. We can help...: )

What the heck is going on in American society. I am 73 and I cannot recall reading newspaper accounts or hearing reports on radio about these kinds of armed attacks by school kids when I was growing up. Something fundamental has changed. Is it the drugs they’re on? The lack of a moral code as the influence of Christianity and Judaism has waned? The sensationalism of the media reports on the previous attacks? All of the above? What?

True. So the story is suspect from the start. I wonder who provided the assist...Holder?

IMO it’s the lack of an organized, structured, mature adult male culture that is willing to herd them into line and stomp down on their more self-destructive instincts.

Where I grew up nearly everyone in the neighborhood knew my parents. Most were responsible married men raising their own families. Most would not have thought twice about kicking my arse if they suspected I was up to no good. And my parents would have gone and thanked them for it.

Today if you even look at a kid crossways the parents will sue you.

Exactly, where did he get the $$$ to buy ammo, guns, gun safe, storage locker rental, chemicals ?? Did they not notice the arsenal in his room.

Parents where probably checked out thinking the schools now raise their kid!

But what WAS his motivation? Is this another SSRI drug crazy, or what? I want the etiology here.

I’m sure he was on SSRI’s, also like all the others. But he clearly also glorified the others, who were also made famous by the media.

That’s a very good explanation. It may not be the complete explanation but it makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

Ever wonder why we NEVER EVER hear of anyone trying to “off” odumbo?

Certainly with his high degree of “unpopularity”, at least some deranged soul would have at least made an attempt to get rid of the P.O.S.

My guess is we have desensitized the youth with a combination of mood altering drugs and violent video games further fueled by the non stop 24/7 coverage of these events when they happen.

Were it me, I’d attach one of these “bombs” to his balls, put him out in a field and have him watch the clock run down on the timer for the detonator. I’d broadcast that on every TV station and cable channel as it happened.

Something's not right here. If he really was that obsessed, how did he get caught?

Someone truly obsessed and keeping notes on how to do things wouldn't be caught.

The article indicates that a “suspicious” neighbor saw him entering a locked storage cabinet and (I assume from this point) that he saw the weapons. What is weird to me is this boy “practiced” by blowing up bombs at a local elementary school playground. Didn’t law enforcement start investigating then?
