Chamber Prez: GOP Has No Chance In 2016 If It Blocks Immigration Reform
Talking Points Memo ^ | May 12, 2014 | Sahil Kapur

Posted on 05/12/2014 4:46:36 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has strongly supported Republican candidates and priorities in recent years. So it was notable when its leader on Monday said the GOP shouldn't even bother to field a presidential nominee in 2016 if it doesn't pass immigration reform.

"If the Republicans don't do it they shouldn't bother to run a candidate in 2016. I mean, think about that. Think about who the voters are," Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue said at a Washington, D.C. panel about the economy and infrastructure.

Donohue said he believes immigration reform is still doable in 2014 even though it's an election year. The Republican-led House has signaled it won't act.

The Chamber supported the Senate-passed immigration bill and has called for visa reforms that make it easier for businesses to hire and retain skilled foreign workers.

Someone needs to tell the Chamber Prez that the GOP has no hope if they DO pass immigration reform that includes any sort of amnesty, path to citizenship, or grant of family privilege.

Right and Proper Immigration Reform:
1. Secure the Border.
2. See #1, above.
3. Deport illegals from wherever they are found.
4. Arrest and prosecute employers who knowingly hire them.

The GOP has no chance if it passes immigration reform. In fact, it probably has no chance period since the Immigration Act of 1965 and the 1986 amnesty have already made the Dems the permanent majority party.

Why have it at all if everyone sneaking in doesn't have to worry about deportation?

Oh wait, that would cause a lot of government parasites to lose their jobs. My bad.

I can’t seem to find a single new chamber of commerce backed candidate who has the stones to even mention immigration.

Maybe the chamber of commerce, and the GOP-e should pack up and move on down to mexico, seeing as how they just love the way they run things down there. They would get along just fine with the coyotes, drug traffickers, drug cartels, sweatshops, corrupt police, corrupt military, and money-launderers, and would be a good fit in the oligarchy mexican government.

If that’s true it’s time to break up the country and start again.
