John Boehner Implies He May Step Down As House Speaker
Western Journalism ^ | 05-12-2014 | F. Peter Brown

John Boehner won’t say if he will be serving another two years as the House Speaker.

“Listen, I’m going to be 65 years old in November,” Boehner stated. “I’d never thought I’d live to be 60. So I’m living on borrowed time.” In addition to his age, Boehner has had to deal with a large number of rebellious House conservative Republicans. How large a number? According to conservatives involved in the deliberations, 40 to 50 new members have already verbally committed to electing a new Speaker. Conservative organizers say that they could force Boehner to step aside as Speaker in late November, when the incoming GOP conference meets.

I figure that he’s going to dump amnesty on us as payback to the American people and then leave.

"That is a weird statement does he have health issues?"

"I think he's a heavy drinker."

From a lot of personal observations and experiences I can say that he has all the "tells" of an alcoholic.

He is also slightly past the age when cirrhosis rears it's ugly head and there are numerous other complications to consider.

Remember Ted Kennedy's last years? That's what he has to look forward to as hepatic encephalopathy takes its toll.

Putting aside that he's a total sellout to the Libs, it would be best for all concerned if he got out of the public eye. Now.

It has been inferred that he is a chain smoker and heavy boozer, so poor health would be a good guess.

At the mythical intersection of K St. and Wall Street is located the geographical heart of support for amnesty.

Something is out of sync with Boehner. He was never “good” at his job, but now he is strange. Maybe he IS more bitter and angry than he is motivated. Or, he waits for the Blue Republican, Cantor, to scratch and claw in enough votes to drag himself into the Speakership.

Boehner may want to stay just long enough to ward off conservative challengers.

At his age, it looks like he retires to a home in Florida, asap, otherwise, why buy one in the first place?

None of the men in my family, that's my Dad,grandfather and six uncles ever made it to 60.

I'll be 75 in July so I understand how he feels.

Whatever he does it will be what he figures is good for him. Probably lots of money lobbying or maybe a spot in Obama’s cabinet.
