Paul Panders on Voter Fraud

The concept of a 2016 election featuring a Marxist like Hillary Clinton against a liberal RINO like Jeb Bush or Chris Christie is so terrifying that it is tempting to grab at any candidate outside the GOP establishment. But some potential alternative candidates may not be much less pernicious, to judge by rhetoric we have been hearing from Rand Paul:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) believes that the GOP’s focus on voter fraud is “offending” Americans, especially blacks.

“Everybody’s gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing,” Paul told The New York Times in an interview on Friday. “I think it’s wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because it’s offending people.”

That is, Republicans should forego honest elections because insisting on them might offend blacks, who vote for the opposition by a 19 to 1 margin.

It should be noted that voter fraud played a large role in Obama’s reelection. But no one in the GOP had the guts to make an issue of it. Consequently, it will play an even larger role in 2016.

Evidently that is fine by Rand Paul, who seems to be following the McCain–Romney Play to Lose playbook.

Unsurprisingly, he is going soft on the illegal immigration issue, which could spell demographic doom for anyone but socialists.

But just as Hispanics slammed Paul for being “offensive,” even after he took a more liberal approach to immigration in favor of amnesty, black leaders gave him no credit for his softer stance on voter ID laws.

Paul’s pandering won’t cause any Democrats to jump ship. But it may cause conservatives to stay home.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

I am amazed how quickly and thoroughly pandering Paul has squandered a whole lot of good will he once had from the Tea Party.

unfortunately, Dr. Ben Carson is also an open borders advocate. We have to be careful who we back. For me, the border is issue # 1. If we don’t have a defined border, we have no nation, and if we flood the country with pro-socialist immigrants, we are screwed.

There are some scenarios where open borders MIGHT make some sense.

But you would have to COMPLETELY dismantle the welfare state FIRST.
