Oh, they had a reason.
"Because we can."
Oxymoron. A screwdriver can be a weapon.
Are there more cop attacks now than in the past or just more documented due to cell phone and dashboard cameras?
lolz
I agree.
My son was handcuffed and had his ankles chained and in the back of a squad car. He called the cops when some other kids were threatening him. (mistake 1) They came, and decided to arrest him. Fine. He was drunk, and mouthy, (mistake 2) but not a menace to anyone, once he was put in the squad car.
After a bit, one of the young cops decided to take him out of the back of the car, and show him how tough he was. He then tasered him not once but three times while he was still handcuffed.
He should have pressed charges, but didn’t. Since then my opinion about the police has changed. I know there are some bad cops, but cops are there to arrest you, nothing more nothing less. If you call them, you better be prepared for anything to happen.
Anyone who uses a taser should be tasered to see how it feels.
75% of the cops make the 25% look bad.
So can an umbrella, a comb, a pencil, a handkerchief, or an open hand.
COMMUNIST!!!
cops are becoming the enemy.
It is all part of “transforming” America into a totalitarian fascist regime. This is necessary to create fear in the public so they are compliant sheep.
Hope and Change.
‘Does this make him crazy, or prescient?’...or even President.
Tasers effect the muscles so it really doesn’t matter if it angers them. Although once you turn the taser off the muscle control returns.
Cops are trained to use violence as the solution to all problems. At least it seems that way. Combined with the mentality of those they hire and the steroid abuse its a wonder more people don’t die.
“Of course if the tasers dont have any effect and just anger the beast, then that would justify multiple tasings.”
Not really. Tasers are not designed to just be used over and over until the person stops moving. At best, that qualifies as torture, and at worst, it can lead to death.
If the taser doesn’t work, the cops should be trained to move on to more reliable methods of subduing a suspect.
Wow I’ve never seen that video of the Albuquerque homeless man before. He never had a chance...Did those officers get what’s coming to them.? Maybe they saw this guy as a training exercise?
They did. He’s subdued.
Probably some of both. In Albuquerque there is a lot of drug and gang related crime and those thugs don't hesitate to confront the police with a gun. Because of this the police are on edge to start with and they are more likely to react likewise in response to any confrontation. However, because of the high number of police shootings, the DOJ has them now under scrutiny and the next step will be the feds stepping in.
From another fatal shooting, this one likely justified:
The shooting is the departments fourth fatal shooting since mid-March and the 25th fatal shooting since 2010. It comes after the Department of Justice issued a report that found that APD had a pattern or practice of violating the constitutional rights of those living here.
The city, APD and the DOJ are now beginning negotiations to craft what will be a court-enforceable agreement to produce reforms to the way the department uses deadly force and hires and retains officers.

Do you mean paid leave and promotions? Probably.
History has repeatedly shown the goal of Communists and brutal tyrannical governments is to brutally threaten and intimidate the people to the point where they comply and conform without question and without hesitation.
“He was unarmed, but carrying a screwdriver”. Tell you what, you try to subdue a Schizophrenic a carrying a screwdriver. They should have called a mental health professional? LOL
They didn’t need to engage if he wasn’t hurting anybody. They could have called the local mental facility as to how to,engage to minimize violence.
Well, in their defense, there was no dog to shoot.
