I have gone to several interviews to find out about half way through it that they already had an internal candidate picked out. The only reason I got an interview is because they have to follow their hiring procedures. It’s really hard on your morale when you go to great lengths to get prepared, then you get you’re hopes up, and then you find out that they weren’t seriously considering you as a candidate all along.
